Hopefully it's an easy win but I feel like we have trouble against them. Albany is usually a rock solid team. If we allow them to get into a 3 PT contest we will not be happy. We have no legit shooters except LJ so I don't want anyone else taking a 3 unless they're wide open and it's Caraher, Dunn, or Champ. I hope we turn them over a lot, because that is what gets us many easy points. It would be nice to see an opponent brick most 3's for a change all game. When is the last time that happened?
Albany is 5-6 on the season and only shooting 31% as a team behind the arc (Albany's leading scorer, Cameron Healy, is shooting nearly 38% from 3.... Gotta be sure to stay on him).
Relax, man.
Brown also shot 30% as a team coming into our game. 2nd half they shot something like 60% for a while or some ridiculous number. I think our style of play leads to this...when we play very aggressively we are bound to let teams get lots of open 3's, but honestly I'm shocked teams like Brown are making them so often even when open. It seems we only have 1 guy right now even including Heron who can make them regularly when wide open and that's LJ. Hopefully we can bring some serious shooters in here soon.
As incredible as Brown shot in the second half, they still shot 34% from 3 for the game (nearly 41% overall from the field for the game).
Brown's whole game plan seemed to be to hoist as many 3's as possible, and hope to make enough, in the end. That strategy almost took them completely out of the game in the first half, and it's what brought them back in the second half.
Considering the number of easy layups they missed, going with the 3 ball was the wise move, IMO.
