From comments even before season started Coach has consistently alluded to Steere needing to improve conditioning and effort. Message to him is pretty clear and hoping we see big effort from Ian tomorrow.
We'll likely need minutes from all three big men. Heron needs to stay relaxed and avoid silly reach in fouls.

Mike Anderson on Ian Steere: "Just want to see the effort, maximum effort. That's the biggest key. I'm an effort guy. You give me a second, third, fourth effort, then you have a chance. A sense of urgency. He'll get an opportunity to play and see if he can bring it."
You really can't lay it out more clearly than that. If Steere heard that and still doesn't give coach what he's looking for, then he'll likely never get it.

I was a little shocked when it was reported we were still involved with Gray. The obvious assumption was that Sears was being recruited over, but now I actually think it's Steere. If he ever wants to play, now's the time to show some fire, especially with Roberts struggling.
I think Anderson tried to motivate Steere and light a fire under him to work harder. Instead he seemingly crumbled. It’s gonna be sink or swim from here on out for Steere. Either rise to the occasion or blame too lofty expectations as to why you’re not succeeding. I’d love to see him give the effort but you can’t teach personalities. Steere isn’t going to get a better coach to get him putting in effort than Anderson honestly.

Zach B
I hope that Willard doesn't see this, and make a pit stop to an ATM on his way to MSG tomorrow. If he thinks Riley's worth it , a Hall assistant or two, might want to start sending out resumes.

A 4-star LI kid. We must work on keeping this kid home and at SJU. Talented kid. We have enough time to work on him.

Spread should be way higher. Makes me think vegas likes the johnnies here.

I got a fever. And the only prescription is more Earlington.

I feel we are going to have to give the duke heavy minutes today. We need his D down low. I am also going to predict a positive game from steere. A few buckets and some much needed banging on d in the paint.

Id like to see alot of greg williams on powell as well. I think gregs length could bother him.

This will be close but I see the Johnnies winning a nail biter 72-69.

Keep the positive vibes. 2-0 at msg
Would have gone but bringing daughter back to college

Need payback. Some games over Seton hall have been taken from us

Sandro Mamukelashvili is probably not Plato g today but looks like he is close to getting back to game action. He is working hard in a workout on the court and looks to be moving well.

Love the enthusiasm. I’m not as optimistic about a win today but agree this team seems to play better at MSG so anything is possible. Aside from a win looking for better offensive play from LJ & Heron. Would also love to see some good moments from Roberts. Also Steere. I trust Coach Anderson and know he’s been holding Steere out for good reasons but I’m not as convinced as others on here that he’s a bust yet. I like what he brings to the table and trust Anderson will get him playing the way he requires.

If the refs allow for an aggressive defense on our end we could pull this out. If the refs call it tight we could be in for a long day. Throw the kitchen sink out Powell and attack the basket.
