(POST-GAME) Utah Valley, Sat., Jan. 23, 4p, FS-1

As I expected, this game has lowered our NET from 98 to 91 overnight. It's important to win these games by double digits which we weren't doing a couple of months ago. Very glad we scheduled this to help balance out our poor early showing.

Roberts in 19 minutes: 7 rebounds (4 offensive) 4 blocks and 2 steals. He is showing off his athleticism and being the kind of inside presence on defense thst we need.

I don't believe that the NET is using margin of victory/defeat for it's rankings, anymore.  That being said, I think they are still using efficiancy ratings somewhat, so you're better off pushing your starters, and beating overmatched teams by 50+.

While Utah Valley was not BE caliber , they had some guys who could score . Overton got to the Rim a lot and was impressive . Cole and Woodbury could certainly play for most teams as well . Their problem as a team was they couldn't play defense against our guys . So , while the score was not competitive they gave us some good Playing time before DePaul . Which isn't going to be a Walkover after they beat Marquette at home .

Jaden - it's great that you post here but it would be even greater if your posts were more than just blog links.  Thanks.

Nice to see Moore have some hops to his step. 13 points along with 6 boards.

Roberts continues with his blocks and boards.

Looked good on the foul line - 15 for 16.

McGriff was able to give 3 assists in 9 minutes playing time.

Cole has trouble defensively staying in front of his man.

Thought Masden should have utilized his center, Aimaq, more in the second half.

For some reason, the UNLV coach, JT  Otzelberger, ran Woodbury off just weeks after getting job.

Amaseinyourface, don't have an iphone, can you put the spotify link up for your latest podcast?
Thanks.

Vegan , didn't know Woodbury was a Runnin Rebel .. Hard to believe a kid who can shoot like that and get to the Rim too, was not a fit for the Rebels .. Coach and Player Chemistry is important in Collegd BB . Sometimes it's there and other times , not .

He was recruited by Marvin Menzies and didn't show much as a frosh. Otzelberger came in and really cleaned house. Think there were only four holdovers left when he finished.
