(POST-GAME) Sacred Heart, Sat. Dec. 22, 8p, FS-1 / 570 WMCA

Looking like a really solid team with plenty of room to improve. Buy stock in Williams and Roberts.

Looks like the team is hitting a nice stride as they head into the Big East Season. Now the road gets tougher but I think these guys are ready to go and are up to the challenge. Really looking forward to the "real' season for the first time in a long time. Go St. John's.

Cupcake part of the schedule is over. Now, will being 12-0 against the Sacred Hearts of the college basketball world propel us into our first national ranking in the Mullin era.
Sacred Heart wasn't much of a challenge before conference play but the only concern during the game was the utter lack of positioning for offensive rebounds. It is not surprising therfore that we were outrebounded on both ends of the court.
It was great to see Mustapha come out of his funk and Shamorie showing off his passing skills. The defense, especially interior, still needs a lot of work. I attribute some of the sloppy plays to the level of the competition but one or two passes into the stands needs to end now before conference play.

Saw none of the game, but like score and fact that Mustapha had a good game offensively. SH game is huge - payback time and need win to set the tone for a very different BE season from last year. Very glad Williams is playing well but wish people would refrain from taking every opportunity to criticize Trimble. He's clearly worked very hard to get in better shape, does everything asked of him and it's just really unnecessary imho.

It was nice to go to a game and not really stress much other than a few boneheaded plays.

Quite a few empty seats both in front and next to us and we were middle section 3...Crowd was decent energy given the game was ours 5 minutes in. Was nice to see them put Shawnelle Scott on scoreboard, a long with the Hardaways and Mario Elie but Scott should have been announced before Hardaways...

Williams over Trimble for me. Trimble is a good kid but all I see is a career 30% 3pt shooter and little else. Can't get a good read on Dixon yet. He's really thin.

Great to see Heron play a little more relaxed. Ckark was on fire.

Keita was sharply dressed in suit and tie. Good for him.. can give some pointers to coaches on where to shop.

Went to the 1870 Court thing. Nice for a drink and an appetizer, but glad we went out to dinner before.

Sorry NC but getting into better shape has nothing to do with playing him 15 minutes per game with horrendous stats.
It's almost mind-boggling that he is the only active player yet to shoot a single foul shot. All but one of his 28 shots have been from the 3 point line. He shoots .29%. He may try hard on defense but at 6'3 he is exceedingly slow and has never shown the ability to drive on his player to collect fouls. Had Keita not been injured he would be the 8th man but realistically should be 9th behind Williams. It's not criticism it's player evaluation.

Didn't see the game, went to the movies.
looking at the scoreboard it looks like there was never any stress in the game, had it under control the the whole way.
Continue it going into B.E. play.

As do those out-of-control, cross-court, fast-break alley-oops.

Can anyone summarise the defence? It looks like they shot the ball well. Hopefully with Keita coming back we can clean up the rebounding. It’s great to see that Williams and Roberts getting minutes and coming along. Hopefully by season end they can be counted on for 8-10 mins a game when needed and carry that over into next year when they will be needed more.

Defense started out great, intense and active. We built up a big lead early and went into glide mode. Got beat off the dribble consistently pretty much the rest of the game except for a five minute stretch in the second half when the lead got to 8 and we turned it on to blow the game out again. Going to be interesting now that BE play begins and it is a 40 minute game. I believe this team has it all in front of them for the taking but we shall see. There are troubling signs, but the talent is there if the effort, mentally and physically, is too.

Thank you. I think I they have it in them to be a lock down team. We will see if they can focus for 40 like you said.

The past two games were exactly what wanted to see during the Mom conference. Just knock the opponent out

Great atmosphere the past couple at Carnesecca. Can't wait fir big east play. Must win at seton hall

Let's go redmen!

The best I have seen a Johnnie team play offense in years. The team did what they had to do, and got better at it the closer to the conference schedule they got. On the broadcast last night, it was mentioned that Mullin is holding back certain sets for the conference season. Interesting.

I think what we are seeing from Williams and Roberts are what most fans were wanting all along. 8-10 minutes per game to give our starters a break and star contributing. It has helped us already and Roberts and Williams have already gotten a little more comfortable. Last two games effort was much better.

Definitely a game Run TMC would have been proud of. I don’t recall many games were we put up over 100 points.

Spacing on defense still needs to get a bit better. I feel that they are sagging off a bit too much leading to open 3s or easy blow byes. Pump fake on the hard close out and went right by our defenders.
