(POST GAME) @ NR / #25 Butler, Wed., Mar. 4, 7pm, CBS SN, 570AM WMCA

This statement is correct. I listened to the postgame on the radio and it was the first thing said by Coach Cleveland that Dunn was sick. It was pretty obvious to anyone who has watched him that something was amiss. He never played like that at anytime this year. I am pretty sure he would not have played at all if it were not for the fact that the team was so shorthanded.
Ok that makes sense... cause he didn’t look like himself at all tonight. Get better Rah!

Sorry guys; don’t buy it. The point guard in college bb is the quarterback, the pulse of the team. If he can’t initiate any offense at all, he should not be playing, period!!! Any momentum or energy from the first half, he put a bullet in.

Had to be. Gillen kept saying on the broadcast that he was tentative, and that's never the problem with Dunn. Usually, he backs down from nobody.

What is it that you don't buy?
Dunn was playing ill. He is not a point guard but a combo guard like Williams. If anything Rutherford, the 5th year player, is who you should put under scrutiny. We don't have a Cole Anthony - thank Chris Mullin and even if we did look at UNC at 13-17 and 13th in a weak ACC. Pick your battles newbie.;)

Penetration, penetration and penetration. Butler did and we didn't.

Defense? The Bull Dogs went untouched against our porous defense. Even a non scorer like Thompson easily penetrated our defense.

It didn't matter who Fiqueroa guarded, they went around him. No Big East team leaves McDermott wide open.Because Fiq is so slow offensively he winds up taking wild shots.

Dunn may have been sick tonight but in my humble opinion Butler's defense prevented him from penetrating. That's his game. They really squash the middle, forcing outside shots. Even then we had a hard time getting a shot off before time ran out.

Champagnie just gets better and better each game. What a bargain for us.

If he isn’t a point guard, then don’’t bring the ball up court & then go for a snooze. If he was ill, even more reason he shouldn’t be playing. Does he want to infect the rest of the team? I’m a Physician: bad reasoning!!!

I don’t know how many shots Dunn avereges, but he was well below tonight. You could tell his aggression wasn’t there. Let’s be real, there’s not a lot of guys who can stay in front of him.

Instead of knocking the kid, why not be supportive and give him some credit? He obviously wasn't at his best tonight, but he was still out there trying to do whatever he could to help out his teammates/brothers. He easily could have stayed home or just sat on the bench, but instead he was out there giving his all. Kuddos to Mr. Dunn!

Game was over when they missed 3 layups over the span of 2 possessions. Ridiculous. Then they close out the first half on a bad note when Julian falls asleep, again, not boxing out on the foul shot, inexcusable!
Funniest thing I heard all night, Gillen, after Caraher missed a 3; "that's not his game" Finally, after 29 games, someone got it right. At least 4 "analysts" throughout the year would have had us believe Caraher shot the ball like Larry Bird. Thank you Pete!

Perhaps you are correct but he obviously was cleared to play. Unfortunately he was not effective and coach Anderson only had Rutherford and Williams available had Dunn not played.
Rasheem has had some difficulty in end of game situations but imagine this team without him! Tonight he was basically absent given his physical condition so you can imagine just having Rutherford distributing the ball. Given the lackluster season both Figueroa and Heron have had Rasheem Dunn has been a vital cog.
The future is bright so have some patients Doc.;)
If you ever make it go back to NYC I'll buy you a drink and discuss our common love for our team........as long as you give me some Viagra samples. Mrs. 72 would appreciate it.:)

I watched the replay and Julian was boxing out McDermott but the missed foul shot went way over his head, Had nothing to do regarding boxing out or falling asleep.

I re-watched it too and what I saw was that instead of keeping McDermott on his back Julian went toward the basket and when it was a long rebound it went over him to McDermott. He didn't fall asleep, it was just a rookie mistake, a mistake of commission not omission. You need the keep the guy next to you on your back, especially a guy having a career game on the boards. If he's on your back he doesn't get the rebound short or long but if you lose contact with him ... well we saw what can happen. A teaching moment and hopefully CMA will deliver that lesson and Julian will continue to become a more and more fundamentally sound and dangerous player for us on both ends of the floor. He's doing great for a freshman and like all freshman still has room to develop.
up by 1 at half and lose by 22 or whatever.

Not much more to say than that
We should get 1/2 a win

This has been a tough BE season. But no matter what, these kids will have that Creighton game at CA to look back on.

Better things to come.

Perhaps you need to work on your bedside manner. Dunn doesn't take a play off, on both ends of the court. He could have begged off the trip if he was sick, but he tried gutting it out for his coach and short handed team. Dunn was a great addition to this team, and playing sick is an example of grit.

Well you could say we played the second half like we were riding a camel in the middle of the desert with no water and no sense of direction. ;) :)
my camel had more direction :)
At first glance I thought you wrote your camel had an erection.

Watching us last night I actually thought of the very old joke about the motorcycle cop in hot pursuit who is passed by a car going so fast that he is sure his Harley has died and gets off to see what's wrong.

You giving up on Bayern?

Your analysis is spot on about Caraher & Champagnie. No box out on that offensive board for Butler at end of the half set the tone for the second half! BTW, in case the team is confused, the word defense has 7 letters. The D this team played has 4!!!!!!!
