Nice to win but again… two local teams Seton Hall and Rutgers with two top ten wins tonight. Watching these other schools challenge themselves and come up big in those moments… it’s pretty sobering to then watch us sneak out with a win against Monmouth.

just don’t see it this year. Don’t see this squad sniffing the top half of the conference. I hope to be proved wrong

The best thing I can say is at least we won. Posh saved us. Wusu another strong game, Mathis had his moments. No way Champ makes the league next year. He should come back but he won’t.

I don’t feel good about this team but this was their best win of the year.  Let’s get by Colgate and Pitt and then it’s a new season

My thoughts:
- Posh's scrappyness won us this game
- Stef Smith provided some much needed 3 point shooting
- Coach called a great play in that late game timeout.  I was expecting us to dribble until 5 seconds left on the shot clock and then take a terrible shot.
- Pinzon needs more minutes to get him ready for BE play
- Wasnt pretty but got a quad 2 win

Quality win.  Monmouth is going to get a lot of wins this year, their guards are legit.

Mathis did an amazing job on Papas minus the 3 point foul, that kid can score and light it up.

At this point in the season St. john's is not a very good team.

Let's hope thing gel as St. John's enters conference play.

I agree.  Look no further then the play where he tried to take that scrub from Monmouth off the dribble and he blocked it right back in his face.  He wont get a shot off in the nba.

Posh, Champy and Storr would be a really nice nucleus for next year.  Fingers crossed.

Not thrilled with this victory.  This team looks clueless too often.

Posh is fabulous!!!

If Champagnie comes back next year it won’t be to play for us

LOL, Scouts don't look at one game.  They look at potential and the entire body of work.  Champ is 6'8, can shoot the ball, can play multiple positions, and has improved greatly defensively, which was the one knock on his game.  He could sit out the rest of the season and at the very worst he's going to get a 2-way contract.  He's a future NBA player that's not even debatable.

A win is a win.
Every time it looked like we were going to put the game away we would do something sloppy or stupid.

Wushu does a lot of good things but not sure why he has the ball in his possession so much at the end of the game.

I would like to see Julian step up at the end of games for us.

I get the Quad 2 win our best if the season but this was a game we should have won by a minimum of 10 points. There was a lot more effort but a lot of it was wasted with pour defense and getting killed by Monmouth on the offensive boards. Our offense missed a few easy shots or we would have put up close to 100 points. Good games by Posh, Wusu and Mathis and three big 3 pointers by Smith. Champs did a few good things but his offense was a struggle. On to the next game.

This game made me optimistic that we can battle for the 6th or 7th spot in the conference.

Before this game NET ratings:

Monmouth 44
SJU 111

I call that a good win.

At the end of the day, mission accomplished.  We got a quad 2 win.

We now have 2 more games to improve an get ready for Seton Hall.  I just wish we were playing better competition to get us ready.

With the exception of that scare at the end, we were in control the entire game. All in all, I'm satisfied with the win. We're not as bad as some of you guys think we are, and we're definitely not as good as many of you thought we were before actually seeing us play. We've got flaws for sure, mostly up front, but if Nyiwe, Stanley and Soriano can collectively give us some production every night, I still think we can contend for a tourney bid.
