(POST GAME) @#16 / #14 Seton Hall, Sun. Feb. 23, 2pm, CBS / 570 WMCA

It's pretty clear that this team has to not only play hard for 40 minutes to win, they have to execute for almost all of the 40 minutes. If a team has to do that, then they're either playing a great team in their building, or they're just not that good. Both were the case today, but it's pretty clear that the latter applies to us.

The Xavier game killed this team (took a lot out of me too, so i get it). If we had won that, the chance of a .500 or better season was still in play (though probably still unlikely, given this closing schedule). Now, there's no path to that whatsoever, IMO. I don't see where 2 upsets are coming from. I think everyone involved realizes that now.

But, if Anderson is going to stick with 40 minutes of hell, he needs shot blockers. The defense is too easily beat, otherwise. I was the number one supporter of playing this, so I don't want to give up on it, but shot blockers and rebounders are a must (PG is also a weakness, but that's been discussed here). Roberts does some of that, but we need some who have a better offensive game
Did any team ever get to final four with only one defense of 40 minutes of hell. No
This coach needs to develop some other defenses to mix it up.
We need a big fat guy in the middle to block the middle. And a two three point shooters who can actually score.
Forget about getting to the final 4. I would take a winning record in conference. It's not the 20 minutes we spend on defense that is the big problem. It's the shooting % that couldn't even win you a batting title.
Why can't we shoot? How many air balls did we have today?
How did our guys get scholarships out of high school? Offensive rebounds, layups off drives? Did they not practice shooting? It certainly shows doesn't it. Wide open air ball shots.

A real poor defensive effort against Hall's penetration.
Didn't realize how weak Roberts hands are.
Earlington looked tired and slow.
Williams will not see 30 minutes in a game next year unless he can show an offensive game.
Seton Hall looked very confident from the beginning of the game . And why not?
Going to need more then one shooter(Cole) next year.
Alley oops should not have surprised us.
When you don't score you don't press or play 40 minutes of hell.

The scores in these threads always seem to be inverted when we lose lol (for instance, today the OP says we won by 16). Not that it matters, but I think our Big East record would be around .500 if we went by the scores in these Post Game threads. Just a strange reoccurring mistake, maybe the OPs are subconsciously not accepting the outcomes. ;)

I know Williams doesd the little things, but he never scores, he had 2 points. Reading the game thread someone said he shot a layup over the basket? I read there were.to many missed layups. This April and May is going to be very interesting.
Lj will go over seas, caraher, steers, and sears will be gone.
I think the only three sure bets to return will be Earlington, Champ, Dunn. I'd like.to see Roberts return but with Moore already.coming, and if a true big comes, Roberts might not want to be a bench player.

I was hoping Williams would become a Paris Horne type player but you might be right about him.

Maybe a chance at a close game just by making layups?

Good, bad and ugly with Roberts, worked on his form at the line and it showed. Bad that he has trouble making simple putbacks, and ugly that he can't hold on to the ball(call back to whoever it was that said he had "great hands" and suggested that I don't know basketball when I challenged him, hopefully your eyes were open this game). Josh did win the opening tip as well, shocking!

Hope the new recruits can step in and play next year, because this is gettng more and more painful.

Seton Hall´s Jared Rhoden averaging 9 points and 7 rebounds in a ranked team.

Former player from Our Savior Lutheran.

Previous staff never offered.

They will. We will have a brand new starting backcourt with posh and the juco kid and the 6’10 juco moster will start too.

This team will be completely different next year and will be much better scoring the ball.

Don’t want to be mean Sears and caraher are just not that good think they were brought on board to fill caps don’t see them staying They should move to a d2 team it would be better for all involved new blood with better skills are needed if we wind up in last place this year no matter the circumstance that Andersen took over this yr was huge failure

Yeah, but I would be willing to bet they all understand the use of punctuation.
We killed it at FT line...92%...Robert's 4-4. A positive in a game of few.

Williams played 30 min and still missing on offense. Concerning for next year.
Needs to realize this is his audition
