Posh was a warrior wish him the best wherever he ends up!!
What are you trying to prove by dissing Posh every other post? We get your stance. You're spamming the board with your "disliking" of Posh.Fun to watch his freshman yesr, warts started to show soph year, was terrible his jr year. There is 0 chance of him coming back.
Good luck to him w/ his new team. Onward and upward for st johns.
Nearly as much effort as Mullins Revenge puts in to sneaking jabs at him.He put more effort into rebounding than most guys a lot bigger than him. Tough as nails. Had a down third year but I'm always gonna be on the Team Posh Bandwagon.
If he were in charge, Drew Valentine would be our coach right now. I lump his player assessment skill in with his coaching assessment skill.Nearly as much effort as Mullins Revenge puts in to sneaking jabs at him.
I cant hid on this one. Although the book is written yet on Valentine. If he were in charge, Drew Valentine would be our coach right now. I lump his player assessment skill in with his coaching assessment skill.
There are clearly two sides of the coin when looking at Posh.
Defensively, even with the excess weight of 15-20 lbs which without question slowed him down, without question he is the best lockdown defender at guard (and likely any podition) that we have had in all my years of following SJU. Minus the weight he was a human tornado, who could pop up on any inch of the court to strip the ball on a double team. Man on man, he had more steals off his opponent's dribble than anyone I can remember.
His effectiveness was diminished this season by teammates who simply played bad defense. He couldn't guard 5 guys and our defense was so porous he was figuratively the boy at the dyke who couldn't plug all the holes.
Offensively, his game needs work, no question. There are a lot of positives. He can slip a defender for layups not unlike Shamorie Ponds albeit with last flash. He often can make the brilliant pass. His shot is not as awful as some fans feel. In short his game needs refinement. Sloppy passes need to and can be greatly reduced. Shot selection can be better, and his shot needs work. Some of his trips to the hoop are ill advised.
To me, he is the perfect candidate for coach Pitino to take under his wing as his pet project. In games over the past 3 years, there has been scant visible evidence of correction or counsel by coaching immediately following egregious mistakes. Yank a guy, talk to him, put him back in.
You could disagree with all of the above but one thing that is indisputable about Posh is effort
He gave 100% effort 100% of the time. He gives up his body fearlessly and despite being one tough son of a gun has sustained a ton of injuries.
I hope that Posh and Rick see the value in each other and he returns. He is a defense first player and there aren't a lot of those around.
