Polee a Hero

My first reaction when I saw the thread title was that he saved a drowning kid or someone choking in a restaurant. It was literally the last thing on my mind that he was a hero on the court.

Similar scenario to the result of Hooper making the three in the double OT loss.

Polee more talented that DJ Kennedy?

Not in a million years.

Kennedy was out that game, or it might have had a different outcome.

As for the rest, Hardy and Horne each got close to 40 minutes. Coach opted to play a third guard (Boothe 15 minutes, Stith 9 minutes, I think) so he could play Horne as swingman, instead of playing Horne at guard and Polee at the swing spot.

It's all water under the bridge at this point, except that the irrational lineups and fascination with the 3-guard look remain.

As for the Sean Evans comment, the only two options are that Bobre has a new screen name or it was meant in jest.

Good post. The season had it's first crack in the veneer when Brownlee broke a finger and was never the same after that. When Kennedy went down in the BET (knee), the team was already playing so-so ball, but we had hope they'd catch fire. Once DJ was gone, there wasn't enough depth on the team to overcome that. IF you recall, someone from the seeding committee had said Kennedy going down affected our seed, which I think is BS because the team had already earned a higher seed by the season we had. Does that mean if Hardy, Brownlee and DJ went down that they wouldn't extend a bid?

Stith was not a Big East player period. Boothe has the heart of a lion, but short on talent and length. Either Norm couldn't recruit any better or he thought of these guys as Little Norms who deserved to play at D1 but wouldn't have had a chance. Remember, Norm said that he thought he was as good as Anthony Mason (his Springfield HS teammate). Didn't mean to bring Norm into this response, but Stith didn't deserve any run, and Dunlap given the chance the next season removed him from the rotation even after Lindsay left.

Evans comment was made in jest to match the 'Polee was second best on the team' comment.
