Players Going Pro

@AshtonP_1: Been giving this much thought over the past couple weeks.. But I just want to announce I'm going Pro.…

Ashton Pankey of Manhattan.

@Ari_Kramer: Not all too surprised Pankey is going pro. He's graduating, would have had to apply for a sixth year if he wanted to stay at Manhattan.

13.4 and 6.7 out of the MAAC. Not very impressive, but hopefully enough for him to find a decent spot in Europe.

Since he's graduating this year, unless he plans on attending grad school I see no point in him sticking around for another year.

True. He could petition for another year (and likely get it) and then pick a bigger school in need of a big man to give him a chance at the NBA. As it stands, he doesn't really have a shot at the NBA.

@WojYahooNBA: Kentucky roster exodus to June's NBA Draft expected to minimally include Towns, Cauley-Stein, Harrison twins, Lyles, Johnson and Booker.

And hopefully, Slice too. Exodus, that is.

@ShamsCharania: Kentucky sophomore guards Andrew and Aaron Harrison will enter the NBA Draft and have decided upon representation, sources told RealGM.

I read somewhere today that Kentucky has a 7 foot kid coming in next year who is already being touted as the frontrunner to be the 1st pick in the 2016 NBA draft

Yeah, Labassiere or something, but their class so far is not quite as strong as past years. The 7 footer, Briscoe and one other top 50ish. That said once the full seven declare (though if Dakari Johnson does its a mistake) I expect Jaylen Brown to commit (seemed to be hinting at that during McD), Malik Newman, Thon Maker, So they reload those 6 with Pothyress, Lee and Ullis.

Now if Cal leaves for the NBA all bets are off and it'll be an interesting late recruiting period.

@GSwaim: Even more #NBA Draft entries, as #Razorbacks Bobby Portis and Kentucky’s Dakari Johnson will go early. #BBN

With all these underclassmen declaring for the draft in addition to the usual foreign kids that will be available, what is the over/under on the number of seniors that will be picked in the first round of the NBA draft this year?

With so many spots to replace on the UK roster, I'm just hoping Cal isn't laying the I-need-you-more-than-ever guilt trip on Slice.

Unless Cal is sporting D cups, Slice is old enough not to fall for any sort of guilt trip.

@EvanDaniels: Kentucky's Devin Booker is headed to the NBA Draft, per sources.

Kentucky is sending 7 players to the draft. Damn! They won't even be that good next year with only a 3 man recruiting class

They're gonna add to the class. I'm not sure how or who they'll add, and if it'll be enough to get 'em where they wanna go in the end.

Per usual you are right. I keep forgetting the majority of the top 15 recruits are uncommitted. Crazy

Here's my guess on Kentucky's roster next year:

PG: Tyler Ullis, Isaiah Briscoe
SG: Malik Newman, Charles Mathews
SF: Jaylen Brown, Alex Pothyress
PF: Marcus Lee
C: Thon Maker, Skal Labissiere

Hate it but truth is they're still pretty good. Better 1-3 than they were this year as I think Newman and Brown are better than the Harrison's. Sill three huge difference makers in the bigs.

Brown and Newman are both better then the Harrison's. But will they get them is the question

Offensively, they could be better. But I don't think they will be anywhere to what they were on the defensive end, this past season. That is what made them go.... Their defense and ability to beat you up on the boards.

Towns could do work on the inside. I see Maker and Labissiere occasionally floating on the outside, to showcase their perimeter skills (as, both have perimeter-like games).
