Player Improvement

oh, and im 100% behind he and Jordan staying. Think they both would be foolish leaving early. Just look around the league.

Not just saying this as a St. John's fan, but both of them would be foolish to leave. In Jordan's case, he is a very gifted basketball player. But he really needs to work on a lot of areas of his game. Develop a more consistent outside shot. Take care of the ball and stop makin foolish decisions. Play with max effort on the court. Sure, he can leave and work on these in the NBDL or Europe, but IMO he'd be better off working on them here.

As for Obekpa, I'm sorry I just don't see an NBA player at all. Has virtually no offensive game at all. I actually think there's potential there with that baseline jumper, but his lack of handle and awareness is just staggering to me for a junior. And to be honest, his defense is just rough. Maybe it's because he's undersized for his position, but he has trouble playing the bigger man.

If you saw how Obekpa was basically just pushed around with ease by Josh Smith, you know he's not ready to bang with the big bodies in the NBA. I just cant see it

I hope Lavin shows Jordon a tape of Tyus play against NC. That is how a real point guard and star takes over a game and puts his teammates on his back and leads to victory.

Jordon has to make one play one game at at time and worry about the NBA when he learns how to win and lead.

Jordan has terrific basketball skills, but he seems very selfish at times. That being said, I think he is gone after this year.

If he was showing Terrific skills I could take the selfishness some. I'm seeing a guy with ok skills who doesn't care much, and has no motor.

Prior to the season opener I think most posters would agree our best chance to improve relied on the better play of OB(offensively) and Jordan.
There was not as much hope in the better play of Pointer, Harrison and Greene. As seniors one would not expect much better play but Pointer and to a lesser degree both Harrison and Greene have improved their games.
Jordan continues to play some great games but remains inconsistent and the offensive game of OB is still non existent.
