The vertically challenged Lupica wrote this in his Sunday column:

Every time St. John's wins a few games, there is this idea, among their faithful, that a legendary program is on it's way back,

No. It's not.

Harvard has made more noise in March, a lot more, the past few years than St. John's has made in a long time.

Ha! How much noise has his beloved BC men's basketball team made since they moved to a southern conference?

Who cares what that lib midget says. And I'm sure at some point in the future when we make a nice run, he'll write puff piece on the program. He hasn't been relevant in decades himself

He always has a snarky comment to make.
Stopped reading his stuff years ago.

The substance of what he says is true, but the way he says it is so snarky that you want to punch him. He's the definition of an @ss.

Harvard playing St.John's tomorrow. If you had to bet your house, who would you pick. Unfortunately I would have to pick Harvard

Lupica has and always been a stick your finger in the wind guy, figure which way its blowing and run and in his case write that way. He is a small man literally and figuratively who became irrelevant a long time ago.

I'd take St. John's and give 10.

Risky bet. Remember, our seniors are out of eligibility.

I am not Lupica fan, but his statement is true.

His statement is true even if he compared them to Nova or many other good programs. Harvard has made the most of their appearances. Lupica is just being an antagonist by pulling St John's into it.

The question is; would Harvard be 500 in the big east?

He pulled St Johns into it because he writes for a NY paper and it provides local context. Answer to your question is no.

was it followed by that annoying prepubescent giggle

I see him as an antagonist.
I marvel at Lupica. I marvel at the fact he has not be punched in the face by someone he has made one of his patented snide remarks about.

What I find interesting is that he has no e-mail address listed as to where to comment on his columns. Most columnists have their e-mails listed at the end of their columns. But not Loopie. I'm sure he knows he'd get a ton of e-mails calling him to task for his comments.

I've wanted to write several times, and even searched the Daily News web site for his e-mail address, but could not find it.

Really surprised that Lupica did not blame Lavin and the team's shortcomings on the Yankees inflated payroll.

Over 10 years ago he had something snarky to say about us and I sent an e-mail to The News that was published (I should have framed it ! LOL !)

I wrote something to the tune of:

Lupica conveniently left out the fact that we beat his alma mater (BC) TWICE that season !!

The irony is that he has become more irrelevant than our basketball program over the last 20 years. I didn't even know he was still writing!
