Overseas Elite

I know that as a community we disagree about everything from Steve Lavin to Donald Trump to lobster rolls but I'm sure we can all agree that we owe Norm Roberts a big debt of gratitude for bringing these talented high quality kids to St John's. #ThanksNorm

I like, the concept of this alumni league. Maybe in the future, we can change it from Overseas Elite, to "New York's Team" ala Boeheim's Army and add guys like Hardy, Hatten and many others.

Problem is that these guys have been together for 3 years and have won $3 mil., (5 after tonight). Why would they want to kick guys like McCollum, Fogg and the other Schenley kid to the curb since they're essential parts of the team. They could add a guy here or there but I doubt they'll break up a winning combo.

Money talks. And I don't think DJ/Justin/Paris see this as a problem B)

You don't think we could do easily as well with Hardy, Hatten, Sir'Dom Dee etc? We have quite a few successful guys playing overseas. Not saying it would happen. Just seeing what Cuse did and I like it. Their alumni base brings fans as well.

When Harrison joined the Iona crew, someone asked him about forming a St John's TBT team and he liked the idea. He just signed in Israel. Hardy is in Turkey (different team than Harrison's last team).

AS much as I would like to see an overseas redmen team. They are so successfull and w 2 million dollars at stake, why tamper w success?

In a word no. Dom,s playing with the Cavs summer league team, Hatten may or may not be in game shape, don't know what's up with Dwight, Dlo played with Gaelnation, Sean Evans with teamFoe.. Point is the core of OE been together for 3 years and has developed tremendous chemistry. Of the guys they added this year one was JB and the other two were ex Schenley teammates of DJ's so it seems he has a lot of input into the team.

The other guy I thought might fit in well was Brownlee.

These guys are made up of guys who have played with each other at the HS, college and Euro level. Why would they change the team if they keep winning the thing. Maybe the STJ alums not on OE should form a team to challenge them.

Re other points, Hatten played on another team that reached the Super 16 and scored 16, 25 and 19. The "other guy from Shenley", Deandre Kane played on OE last year as well. Blair I think was still an NBA prospect at the time. I think Justin has looked a lot better than Blair throughout this tourney.

Wish I could watch the game but I'll be at Stub Hub Center watching Australia/Brazil and USA/Japan in Tournament of nations. Good luck fellas.

86-83 victory for Overseas Elite
3 peat champions - 19-0 record in tournament play
Congrats to DJ Kennedy , Justin Burrell, et al

It doesn't get old watching DJ Kennedy keep doing the little things. Came out of nowhere to grab a loose ball and shoot a turnaround jumper with 1 second left on shot clock in crunch time. Probably biggest play of the game to help his team win.

Great to hear!

Was unfortunately unable to catch the game. Will it shown be again?

ESPN usually archives it's games on WatchESPN.

Here it is:

Much appreciated, austour. Just finished watching what was one helluva game. Fortunately, knowing the outcome kept my blood pressure from going through the roof. Gotta say that it was a lot easier to root against a team named Boeheim's Army than it was to root against one named Challenge ALS.
