During the last 2 tumultuous weeks in the search for our new head coach I had reached out to Mike Cragg thanking him for taking the job and extending to him my total support in this process! Wouldn’t you know that he personally responded to my email thanking me for being a longtime follower of the program and he hoped that I will be with him for the great ride!
He ended the email by thanking me for reaching out to him last week and said he was sorry he could not have responded sooner!
This man is a class act and we are so fortunate to have him! I just hope the higher ups realize this!

I had a similar response from MC. Classy and smart.

Catman, i seen your headline and was about to get really pissed, I thought he was stepping down because of the 2 clowns.
Then read your post, and man what a huge relief came over me.
We simply can't lose this guy, if this school ever wants to turn things around.

Cragg is an incredible asset for the school and anybody standing in his way is a moron. I hope he is truly here for the long haul as he's exactly what the school needs.

Hopefully the mom and pop culture at StJohn’s is eroding as evidenced by the fact that it hired an experienced professional when it hired MC who in turn hired an experienced professional when aMC hired Coach Mike Anderson.

I also had a similar response to the email I sent him last Thursday morning

I could not agree with you more old school! Sorry for pissing you off!

He also wrote back to my email thanking me for saying I’d continue my season tickets and that I was happy with the coach he hired. Very class act indeed and obviously a tireless worker!

Thanks for the posts above.
You can tell a lot about a person by how he treats others “when no one is looking”!
Pardon
Me for repeating this - anyone who comes with blessings from Mike Krzyzewski - will be top shelf, honest and driven to succeed in an admirable way.
I too contacted Mike Cragg, left a message. He left a message. We’ve been playing the proverbial phone tag. The point being I can’t imagine any prior SJU AD returning a call.
We are fortunate. Maybe the powers of the universe are making up for the last three decades.
All the best.

Without his intervention, we would have been saddled with old Porter, from Loyola, for eight long years, or possibly Paul Hewitt.

I am so glad that Cragg has the cojones to stand up to those clowns to ensure that we got a quality and highly respected basketball coach. Kudos to Mike Cragg for a job well done!!

He also responded to my email as well. Very classy and upbeat. He said that he has a lot of work to do. He said he was very happy to have Coach Anderson and his family on the St John's team.He was glad for the support.
I hope the two knuckleheads(Bobby and Joe) leave Mike alone. He is the real deal!

AMEN!!!!!!

Call me selfish, but I really hope he delivers on his promise to hold all Big East games at MSG. I'm sure it's not feasible due to scheduling at MSG, but as someone who lives way out in the burbs, it would make it a lot easier for me.

I agree RSR2. We must move in that direction and the faster the better. Great recruiting ‘carrot’ even if the Knicks s*q.
Lol.

It could happen, or at least all Big East games in larger arenas (like Nassau Coll or Barclay). Expansion of CA ruled out for now.

Why is expansion of CA ruled out for now Beast?

Maybe because we just spent $4m on a buyout?
