Ouch! CBS Sports writer picks St.John's to finish

welp only ahead of seven power conference teams teams on that list... (Depaul, Wash st, Mizzou, BC, USF, GT, Rutgers)

I think pre-season rankers are overlooking how important having a PG that can handle the ball is, and how important it is to have a PG that is quick enough to defend that position at this level. Last season we couldn't break the press against anyone, the only reason we somehow beat Cuse was because they were too proud (or dumb) to come out of the 2-3 zone and press us. That said until we prove otherwise we don't deserve to be ranked any higher than we were last season. I'd be beyond happy if we somehow pulled out a 500 conference record but I expect us to be a bit below that. my guess is that we end up somewhere from 7th to 9th place in the conference.

That list is absolutely insane, fun and meaningless all in one giant article. Not even the biggest hoops junkie has seen half the schools on that list and hasn't seen any of those teams practice no less play a game since games have not yet started!!! I can't wait until we play some games because I think we clearly are going to surprise some people because we have been so bad, for so long that we are being taken very lightly. Mind you I am not predicting top of the country here but a clear upgrade in talent and stability is here and it begins this year.
