Here's the thing.. his skills aren't back-to-the-basket post-up moves, and that's what a lot of fans are looking for. Sanchez is talented, no doubt, but we already have an athletic forward that likes to lead the break after he gets a rebound, who is comfortable facing up from mid-range, and who has a tendency to drift to the perimeter too often. I'm not sure Sanchez is a good fit playing alongside Jakarr. If Obekpa continues to develop I wouldn't mind bringing Sanchez off the bench as the 6th man. With Greene starting, we need scoring at the 8 minute mark when Harrison/Sampson take a breather.
I don't know - it's an idea. They might play great together tonight, but so far I think the chemistry isn't great when they're both out there together.
Sanchez and Obekpa play great out there together. It's because they are the 4/5 on this team. People are going to have to come to grips with the fact that Jakarr is our 3, regardless of the fact that he can't hit threes. He hits long 2's at a pretty good clip and has been better at attacking the rim. No he's not a natural 3, but we play two hybrid forwards on this team in Sanchez and Jakarr.
As far as Sanchez goes, he's not really a low post guy. He's a face-up 4 who can pay in the post at times. Much like a guy like Mitch McGary doesn't sit under the basket as a center might be expected to do. That said, Orlando must be looked for when we are looking for post offense. He can pass extremely well and score on hooks and turnaround jumpers. He needs to being of our top 3 offensive threats, especially until Jordan comes to play.
