On Court Improvements

Interesting thread but comparing apples and oranges; IMO, everything will be improved, from an obvious to the naked eye commitment to winning by all involved, to defense, to sharing the ball, to intelligent, team play on both sides of the court.

Love the optimism. It’s going to be like lake Wobegon, where the women are strong, the men good-looking, and all the players basketball iqs are above-average.

The most important improvement you will see in the players is the knowledge of the game, awareness and execution.

Not sure it is optimism per se, but much better players, replacing a coach who lost his fastball, for whatever reasons, with one of the best ever; one who seemingly still very much has is, makes my opinion pretty much a no-brainer.
I will acknowledge and then wipe the egg off my face if I am wrong.

You won’t be wrong.

Eric knows we are going to win the whole damn thing but he needs to hedge because people like Hershey will make fun of him. I know this because I am essentially Eric.
The thread was improvement. So I just wrote about winning a final four game which would be an improvement of our past accomplishments.

And you are correct ljsa. I didn’t want people to think I was Too optimistic. Lol.

Thanks all for responding. I’ve never started a thread. I’m sticking with “defending the three” as my hope for an early and clear improvement. Pitino is quite literally the architect of the modern college game. At Providence he grasped the importance of the three before anyone else in the game. He eliminated the 15 foot jump shot almost single-handedly.

But “not choking away leads” is a close second.

I know that this is not a short term wish for improvement, but ...........

I will be very happy to see our kids locked in and focused on the coach's instructions during timeouts
Those "In the Huddle" segments with CMA were quite painful to watch
As a former coach, I would have sat anybody who was disrespectful to me and the team in those huddles
I am very confident that won't be an issue anymore
