Disappointed in the coaching. I see nothing there.
 
I feel like the season is already lost. We most likely weren't going to make the tournament this year of course, but we're only 6 games in and it seems like we have no chance to compete. It hardly seems like an improvement from last year even which is far more scary. All the optimism I had a week ago completely wiped away. We need this game, period.
 
Game film from the first half could be used to extract confessions, it was that bad.

Soft defense, poor passing, no set plays, blown dunks, hoisting up hopeful 3's, silly fouls... There is individual talent here but we clearly have not gelled as a team - it's like they just met for the first time. Coaching staff will have their work cut out to have the team ready for Big East play.
 
He better be glued to the bench for the rest of the night after that.

Don't count on it. That a boy Mullin keep playing Ellison. How about the fast break pass from Ponds to him as he wasn't even looking for the pass. Got a surprise reaction from Ponds. And the bonehead 3 point foul as he jumps toward Stith. I guess its his defense that allows for his playing time. Good call Mullin..
How about our weak handed centers unable to hold onto passes, plus being outrebounded by a smaller Old Dominion team..
 
Both teams look tired . We look like don't even like each other on the court .

This could be a big problem going forward.
Coaches need to keep the team working together. Frustration can wreck a locker room.



Also... ODU shot 25%!! And they're winning by 6. We need to run better sets. That's horrible.
 
i am disappointed that the St.John's team lacks passion.

Something is missing. After 3 consecutive losses, St.John's is playing to avoid finishing D.F.L. ( a/k/a "dead F ' ing last) in the Tournament but the players seemingly lack the knock dow/ hustle which pride pride should dictate. .... disappointing.
 
We would have more rebounds if we played a 2-3 zone with Ponds at Center.

He was improved amongst the returning players? Sounds Lavinesque.

He is a train wreck who plays dumb basketball. He was one of the desperation recruits we signed along with Darien Williams. If these were Matt's recruits he gets a D for both. Come to think, Ron Mouvlika and Johnson were mediocre as well so last year's horror show is just continuing with anyone we recruited from the first class.

Then again it is hard to be up when you are facing your 4th loss in a row.
