I hate to bring this up but... When a "clean cut" kid like Arch jerks his head back, and he is being defended by a "thug" like Sir'Dom or a tattooed Dlo, he automatically gets the call (by many "clean cut" refs). Sometimes, there seems to be a racial component.

I hate blaming officials when my team loses. It's something I did as a kid when I was unable to be objective whenever my team lost a basketball game. With that said, I can't help but feel we've really been getting shafted by the zebras these last few games. Now, am I saying that poor officiating is the sole reason we are on a three game losing streak? Absolutely not. I would say lack of depth above anything else is the main reason. But boy oh boy, it just feels like we can't get a whistle if our lives depended on it.

Here's one example. Last night D'Lo gets hit in the mouth and has to go to the bench because he's bleeding. Should this have been a flagrant foul? I'm not sure; it was clearly inadvertent and part of the physicality of the Big East. But can you remember the last time a player got hit in the mouth, went down, was bleeding, and the officials DIDN'T go to the monitor to check for a flagrant? Just one example from last night, but I was shocked they didn't at least review it.

Maybe it's just me and sour grapes over our three game losing streak, but wanted to see if anyone else is seeing the same thing I'm seeing in these games.

I didn't have a problem with the officiating last night but if lavin could of gotten a technical to stir up the team and officiating after one his players went down (harrison/obekpa). Happens all the time in sports.

I'm resorting to humor to kill pain, but just had a vision of Lav taking jacket off, hurling it to get tech, revealing his UA sweatshirt is sleeveless.

3 fouls on Nova's first offensive possessions were blatant and unnecessary reach-ins by our guys.

No reason for CO to be reaching over Ochefu's back to start the game.

Refs calls even out over the course of a game with bad calls going both ways.

Our players were undisciplined and too aggressive to start the game.

Enough cop outs already. A flagrant on the Nova kid who hit D'Lo wasn't going to change the outcome of the game.

Just finished rewatching game from last night. I thought Phil got fouled at end of first half while at the game and sure enough Archie got him pretty good on replay. He also flopped on the Jones offensive in first half, Raf commented how he "pulled " Jones down.

Your comparison reminded me of the old Saturday night live skit with Garret Morris interviewing Julian Bond. They were lockstep on racial inequalities when Bond remarked to Morris, "Well you know, light skinned blacks are more intelligent than dark skinned blacks", to which Morris grimaced and shouted, "Say what?"

Uhh, Arch doesn't get the calls when he's guarded by white guys?

I will agree that Dlo has become a master at creating contact and he has gotten more calls this year than in past years.

I think you are on to something! The same thing happened with those "clean cut" kids on Butler. I think the same will happen with those "clean cut" kids when we play Creighton. I strongly suggest Lavin start giving Amar at least 15 minutes per game to counter that trend. However, how can our coach even recognize clean cut kids when he dresses like a slob and allows his best friend, Rico Hines, to grow an ISIS beard? But your racial component is spot on! We need more "clean cut" kids who can shoot, are gym rats, future coaches, 4 year players who don't have the need for tats up to their balls to show they have balls. We need a couple of Archies on the team! I am with you 100% brother! !!

I think you are on to something! The same thing happened with those "clean cut" kids on Butler. I think the same will happen with those "clean cut" kids when we play Creighton.
