Officials

I don’t watch the NBA anymore but did you see the miss call where Durant took 3 steps out of bounds to save a ball and refs missed it?

I too do not watch the NBA, but last week on the news they showed Hardin taking FIVE steps without a call.

Absolutely the worst call ever! Ran 25 feet along the baseline well out of bounds reached out with both feet still well out of bounds and flipped the ball right in front of ref with Harden pointing in disbelief and refs doesn't blow whistle.

After seeing this, the end of the Seton Hall game doesn't seem so bad. All kidding aside, I have no idea how you miss that. The fan in the last row of the upper bowl could see that clearly.

Watched it again and there 2 refs who could have made the call-one along the baseline and one along the sideline and they both swallowed their whistles. Just wondering if they had to go to an emergency room to have the whistles extracted from their stomachs or were they able to pass them in their stools.

My brother was telling me about the DePaul/Vill game where Villanova shot an air ball as the shot clock expired. A DePaul player touched the ball underneath the basket and deflected it out of bounds as he thought it was a violation. It happened with about 5 to go and the game was tight. Refs gave the ball back to Villanova and commentators couldn't believe it but then came back saying that the refs were right even though the rule doesn't make sense. Anybody catch this? Was my brother off on this? He was a collage coach but not during the shot clock era.

Your brother was right. It was the famous James Breeding of SH fame. Not sure why it wasn't a shot clock violation.

This is not good news!

Why would the BE do that?

The only thing I can think of is that the refs are assigned to games well in advance.

guys its pretty obvious that we all know the games are fixed....to a certain extent. The refs know the spread. Whether they are involved or not....???? But, they will put the team losing the spread in a position to win. If that team doesn't execute, thats on them, but they do. I said to my son that i like the johnnies favored because they refs will be for us. Low and behold, we cover the spread by 1/2 pt. Now, the johnnies did execute down the line, but the refs make the calls.......we all know it would be impossible for vegas to get these spreads right all the time if their wasn't a system. The system is the refs. We all know that, don't be blind. But, need i digress. That was one hell of a win today!!! Go johnnies!!!!!! Happy bday Louie!

If Rothstein can't spell the name maybe he's wrong about the assignment too.

Only thing I can think of is ref believed shot clock expired after ball went out.

I learned something yesterday when a gtown player deflected a ball into the backcourt on an inbounds pass. Thought for sure that's a backcourt violation, but it isn't. Player must have control in the frobtcourt off the inbounds pass.

That could be but smart people would know when to make a change
A-holes would just let things be as is regardless of the circumstances
Are the BE brain trust smart people or A-holes?
You decide. In my world, there's no question about is - they are spineless!!

It’s correct call just wondering why they were able to correct that one.

My thinking is that if it were at ca, they may have intervened. They would be more concerned about the fan reaction. With more and more distance in time or games from the SH game reaction will be less.

He had control then started to dribble deflects it off his knee, but he wasn't in control?
That's bs.
So I guess while dribbling you're not in control?
