Obekpa Saga Continues

Never thought he was anywhere near NBA material, and can't imagine anything happened(like a 3" growth spurt or development of small forward skills) in his one year off that would change that. He hasn't even stepped foot on the court yet for UNLV, who tool a leap of faith on him, and he's already got one foot out the door. IMO the staff would be saving themselves a lot of future headaches by severing ties with him now. Guess if that happens, he did have something to loose.

Severing ties with someone for testing the waters would set a bad precedent for a new staff trying to attract players who ultimately would like to play in the NBA.

Yes I know CO let his teammates down last year. I also know that Durand Johnson violated team or school rules and was suspended for a year at Pitt there go letting his team down. While I have no idea what he did, even after sitting out the year, the final verdict was not to let him back on the team and he wound up here where he was welcomed with open arms. Since arriving it appears (with the possible exception of a heated moment inexchanging some words with Seton Hall players at the end of the American at MSG whic really doesn't seem like it was a big deal) he has done nothing wrong off or on the court at least nothing we have heard of. Just saying.

There is no downside to testing the waters. If he gets a combine invite there could be a huge upside. Keep in mind EVERY Kentucky player is doing the same thing.
