Surprised Yankees went 6 years.  All the talk seemed to be 4 vs 5.  But by going 6 the per year number seemed to drop from 20 to 15.  So some extra to plug other holes.

I'm sure come years 4, 5 and 6 were talking about 1B.

Would Tanaka accept a similiar deal? Depends how badly he wants to go back to Japan.
Cole, Kluber, Tanaka........ Not a bad playoff rotation.

GREAT DAY for our Yankees - my first 5 years alive the Yanks won 5 World Series and my first 15 years through high school days the Yanks played in 13 out of 15 series. I and my fellow fans became spoiled - my true point here I hope the current gallery of Mantle, Berra, Ford etc. ( Judge et al. ) get to go to and win a Series or two!
I hope Aaron Judge does not have the same fate as Don Mattingly!
Blessings.

And whichever player is pitching better: Montgomery, German or Garcia

I like the Kluber signing.  Low risk high reward.  Still need another arm in there.  Problem is the 40 man roster is tapped.  They actually have to open up 2 spots for DJ and Kluber.

Trade Andujar and some other kids for an arm.  I'm guessing if they want a good arm they will have to pick between Deivi or Clarke and only keep one.  I'm kind of torn between the two.  There was a great interview with Clarke about spin rates that makes me think he's what Cashman and Blake are looking for.  But last year you could have fooled me with how tentative they were to use him.

Please don't trade Frazier.  Let the kid play every damn day and hit.

I would have rather signed Tanaka for a year, knowing the risk. Feels like Kluber is too risky, understanding the upside. But inured players tend to stay that way, or under perform. I'm willing to trade whatever young players to get another pitcher in here. Most of these kids will not pan out. Just not Frazier or Garcia.

Agree on trading for another pitcher. They can still sign Tanaka also.

Yanks get Taillon for four low level prospects. (Yajure, Smith, Contreras, Escotto). Taillon recovering from second TJ surgery.

Good move.  Another low risk high reward.  Didn't give up any Top 10 prospects.  Traded 2 players on the 40 man roster to clear out some space they need to add DJ and Kluber.  Yajure I liked in his limited time last year.  Thought he could be Mendoza like piece out of the pen.  Cole gets his good buddy and Yankees hope he can bounce back from a second TJ surgery.

Yanks accumulating a lot of questionable starting pitching arms. Not a recipe for success. But at least there is upside.

How often do you see a Yankee - Red Sox trade? Sox getting Ottavino and Frank German. Not sure what Yanks are getting besides salary cap relief.
