I'm not sure you were joking or not, but Moose posts here, as much as he does on the other board. The other board started getting more traffic when this board crashed about a year ago. Regardless, this board gets it share of traffic. This board also has it share of folks who have different opinions.

I think some people are now calling you out because all of your posts of late seems to be laced with negativity. If you noticed, you didn't start catching any flak from some until each and every post was filled with either negativity, hyperbole, or both. Balance, my friend.

I also know you tend to make a funny from time to time, as well. I think some people do not get it or isn't laughing. It's all good. Once again, it's all about staying medium, IMO.

Sarcasm is a form of humor that requires the highest functions of our brains.
Do not mistake humorous sarcasm with negativity.
My response to Newsie's opinion about DG's view of our team's poor shooting stats was simply a sarcastic follow to which I pointed out that it was good of him not to mention we were last in the conference in free throws and that CO's % is comically low, even by CYO standards.
Now, you may ask, why are some tight asses calling me out and not Newsie or anyone else is bewildering.
My post game blurbs are pretty balanced compared to some of the folks who are usually standing on the edge of the ledge and unless there is some humor mixed in, why would I, or anyone else, give a flying fck about people's comments here rather than just read Roger Rubin's article post game.

As you know I respect those that provide informative news about our team, potential recruits and who go out and actually scout out of loyalty and sincere interest. You and Moose come to mind but there are others that hit the road in their support.
Others , like Maher and Kranmars, are loyal fans that go out and support the team and have fun doing so......even when we lose.

It does not take much for some to assume the "high and mighty" role here when we win a couple of games and then turn into haters as soon as we lose a couple. Those are the same folks that criticize me for my negative humor.
You are right......they just do not get it.
Finally, when people accuse others of "stirring the pot" it is usually those cooks who think they are Gordon Ramsey.
Unfortunate that many of them cannot boil a egg, let alone make a stew that requires many ingredients (opinions).

I could start a cottage industry here if I highlighted the negative opinions of folks but what fun would that be?

I don’t like his substance and especially his tone; Very pompous. I don’t think he is half as smart as he thinks he is.

I don’t know about his Catholic/non-Catholic feelings. He is just not that smart.

Luckily he did not bring up the fact that this may be the worst free throw shooting team in St. John's history or that our diaper dandy shot blocker could literally shoot foul shots with his eyes closed and he would still have the same pitiful shooting %.
My only exception his tarring Branch with the cannot shoot group since he has played the fewest games of the regulars and actually has a decent stroke unlike Jakarr's unsightly form. Harrison is a gunner who throws up prayers half the time and his shooting % in the Big East has gone Texas south.

I support this team more than most "interweb analysts" here and all DG reported was the EF truth!
Are you disputing we are last in FT shooting? That CO shooting close to 20% FTs is an abomination of all things that should be corrected after practices??
I am happy we are where we are thus far, before the hard part of the schedule, but we have been playing like shit and playing ugly.

Wow, quite a reaction. Forget the free throw shooting, how about the comment about Jakarr's form and D'Lo "throwing up prayers". Who cares about his form if his shot goes in? As for D'Lo, are you for real? What more do you want this kid to do as a Soph who broke our Freshman scoring record and leads us in scoring again?

By the way, I didn't just come on this site...I've been on for awhile, but needed to step away when the negativity was running rampant after the G'Town loss. I chose to bite my tongue about posters' reactions (others should try that in my opinion) rather than engage in some of the nonsense that was going on here. Now I ask you to find a silver lining in a team that is turning a corner, and this is the reaction?

We root for the same team and clearly have a ton of passion for them. If this is how you choose to share your views, that's your prerogative. However, it is also mine to tell you that I don't appreciate your negative views, especially when we're winning. Whether you call it the soft part of the schedule or not (I guess we'll ignore Cincy and ND), the team has proven that it can win games and is getting better. Other than two years ago, we haven't seen this in our team in 10+ years. As a result, I am looking forward to the rest of the schedule.

As for DG, he's a pompous a@@ like many have said, and most if his views are unfounded. I couldn't care less what he says about us.

Any shots I take at the "program" are not veiled since I just come out and speak my mind. Much of what I say is meant to have a humorous and sarcastic undertone that obviously goes over the heads of some of the Phi Bet Crappers on this board.....like you.

Living in Montana allowed me to have dinner last summer with Amir since he was out here playing for the Billings Mustangs. So continue on with your teenage girl drivel. I am sorry you had to move to Montana for a stake at life and a chance to meet Amir! Living in NYC affords some of us the chance to have drinks with the coaches. Assuming you are old enough, I'll buy you a drink if you return to NYC from your exile.
