yes, with extra absorbent undergarments. what's your objection to the article? virtually everyone says the college and pro games have been watered down by the one and dones.
we're on a weak bubble right now...aren't we? i think that's as optimistic as anyone can get. there are dozens of teams on the bubble nationwide. he singled out st john's, seton hall and rutgers because the article was in the post.

I didn't read the article. Because everything that comes out of that douche's mouth is hogwash. He has serious issues with the catholic schools and always has even prior to the breakup. He might very well recite facts in the article but I'm sure it has his patented douchey twist to it.
Your right about the Post asking. I don't like when they ask National people about the locals just for craps and giggles about adding a little blurb in the paper. How many games you think Dougie has seen of those 3 locals this year.
Gottlieb is a pompous, smug, arrogant ass. A catholic school bias, he is just overall negative and opionated about a lot of things.
That being said, I don't take issue with his quotes in the article. NCAA is watered down over past years, there are alot of teams who have a chance at the dance, even if many of them are at best middle of the pack. We do have problems shooting (so did he in college), we do miss Harkless. He does like Sampson, Branch and Harrison as do I.

Seems a little harsh. We are not a great shooting team, we do not rebound well, have been known to get lit up by a hot outside shooter, do not shoot our FT's... and yet, the most importatnt stat of all, we are 4-3 in the BE with two road wins and two wins over ranked opponents. Go figure, Mr. Gottlieb.
He forgot our monster shot-blocker and the improvement in Sir'Dom,a ll round play of D-Lo and the positive impact of Branch...

He leaves out Dom, something you can't do if you been watching SJU lately. Two years ago a team with 9 conference loses, probably a first, won it all. That woulda been something to write about. As far as there being a lot of teams still playing for a spot, it is still January. Gottlieb could have advanced the idea of going back to 16 teams in the dance. You all have heard the work of a lot of guys working the broadcast side of college hoops. Maybe we should shrink the game because so many of them piss poor at what they do. I'm for whatever keeps people working.
I think it's pretty funny that he said our guys can't shoot .I saw him in college and he was a terrible shooter. He couldn't shoot at ND or Okla. St.. But he was quite a student athlete. Stealing two credit cards from his fellow students and running them up to the tune $900. He's not Catholic and got canned from ND for stealing and that is why he doesn't like the Catholic basketball schools. He is a smart-ass plain and simple

Luckily he did not bring up the fact that this may be the worst free throw shooting team in St. John's history or that our diaper dandy shot blocker could literally shoot foul shots with his eyes closed and he would still have the same pitiful shooting %.
My only exception his tarring Branch with the cannot shoot group since he has played the fewest games of the regulars and actually has a decent stroke unlike Jakarr's unsightly form. Harrison is a gunner who throws up prayers half the time and his shooting % in the Big East has gone Texas south.
What gives with you lately? Not a positive thing to say. Your tone is getting old. Feels like you've replaced Joe3 as the one who needs to stir the pot. How bad would your comments be if we were losing?
The team is doing fine and regardless of your negative views, many of us (including me) are enjoying the growth and improvement in their play.
I'm not sure you were joking or not, but Moose posts here, as much as he does on the other board. The other board started getting more traffic when this board crashed about a year ago. Regardless, this board gets it share of traffic. This board also has it share of folks who have different opinions.
I think some people are now calling you out because all of your posts of late seems to be laced with negativity. If you noticed, you didn't start catching any flak from some until each and every post was filled with either negativity, hyperbole, or both. Balance, my friend.
I also know you tend to make a funny from time to time, as well. I think some people do not get it or isn't laughing. It's all good. Once again, it's all about staying medium, IMO.
