Surprisingly, he expects to qualify for 2012.

2012 Norvel Pelle tells @TheLoboLair that he plans to be eligible for 2012; has visited both New Mexico State & DePaul (1 of 2)
(2 of 2) Pelle says he is hearing from most from Memphis, Missouri, UConn, UTEP, Florida St & New Mexico. Mizzou may see 1 of final 3 visits

from what i've heard, and I'm not in the know by any means...but I hear he may be heading to Johns.....Taco Johns

Sad situation. The kid is an amazing athlete. What a gazelle. Dare I say, we got the guy we needed in Obekpa who has the drive and motor to succeed. I wish Pelle had that. Hes a real talent.

Yeah, i would've loved to have Pelle...he could've busted his butt like Amir did, instead he spent the majority of his time in the fall/winter on twitter..a wasted talent for sure..

I hope everything works out for Norvel but at this point I don't think many of us would want him here anyway. I'm not saying that's even a remote possibility but he needs more time than most do in terms of maturing. I hope that happens because with his talent he will undoubtedly parlay a college career into the pros be it in the NbA or Europe.

If he is eligible, I wouldn't be surprised if UConn pulls another Drummond move like last year. Anyone know if Uconn has any available schollies?

I don't think so. He's struggled to get eligible, and now that he is, I don't see him wasting it on a team that can't even make the tourney.

OK he should have put in the effort.like Amir at that time but that being said he.wanted.. to come to SJU why would he not want us now what soured him re us..

Call me a skeptic but still waiting to hear another source say he's eligible besides him saying he 'expects' to be. Since he expected to be last year and we know how that turned out.

If he was so worried about making it to the ncaa t why go to that powerhouse FIT?

He's going to look at UCONN and see a program that produces NBA bigs at a pretty regular clip. That's a huge draw. I'm definitely worried he'll end up there.

But like Moose pointed out a few days ago; they have a big problem with their APR; they might not want to take on an academic risk right now.

He's actually putting in some work. been working out with Artest.

Its nice that hes putting in some work. He should figure out where he is going to school in Sept.

If he really is the next Kevin Durant like they claim, he should have no trouble finding a one-year contract with a high-level European team. That way, his lack of effort in the classroom won't keep coming back to haunt him.

Color me unimpressed.

Until he can put these together during regulated games and maintain the qualifying academic scores, I will remain skeptical on everything Norvel.

I wish him the best.

But we've seen this story before.
