North Shore

So sad to hear. Had a tough last few years. If memory serves didn't he lose his kids or am I thinking of someone else.
Nah unfortunately that was him.

So, so very sad to hear this. He put up a good fight. A perfect gentlemen and big fan who just had too much tragedy in his life.

RIP Bill.

I was afraid to open this thread when a saw the topic heading. The fears were realized. Very sad and horrible news to learn. North Shore goes back a long way on redmen.com as far back as I can remember.

Prayers for Bill's soul and sincere condolences to his family. May he rest in peace in heaven.

I felt the same way about opening it.

I personally never met Northshore, but I'm not surprised about the comments people have posted about him. I've had the pleasure of meeting some great fellow Redmen.com folks over the last few years. I really wish we can have an event, even if it's not during the season, where we can all meet, and either talk about about the upcoming season, or reminisce about the one that just ended. Seems like there are plenty of great people on here, who equally love St. John's, and it would be great if we can have some type of annual event. Maybe we can do it in Northshore's name.

Good thought
sad news indeed. RIP Northshore

RIP. Did not know him personally but respected his posts. Any loss to the Redmen community is a loss to us all.

Catastrophic illness often also destroys personal finances, and for a guy that's as bad as the illness to know what little you may leave behind. Really sad. I didn't know him, but remember him as a solid poster, but obviously there is much more to a person than a screen name and lines of text.

RIP

I never has the pleasure you meeting Bill but I exchanged "private messages" with him and knew him to be a good and decent person who was a passionate fan who was an original Redmen.com-er I wish his family best during this difficult time.

Although we sometimes may get irritated with one or more posters on the site it is important to remember that every regular poster shares a positive passion with you for St John's basketball

ps. I have wondered before how many posters have passed on. In particular I recall "Alex of Woodside" who was on this site at its very beginning. Alex was not only an astute observer of basketball but also seemed to have an excellent handle on recruiting.

Very, very sad news.

I'm sure we all agree that North Shore was a Redmen Hall of Famer.

Will remember him and his family in my prayers

If anyone has his family's address I would appreciate it if you could PM it to me. I would like to send a Mass card.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Bill and his family.

I remember in the earliest days of Redmen.com, "Northshore" went out of his way to welcome this newbie to board. Immediately made me feel like a friend and part of the community. Told me a lot of about the man...

May he rest in peace.

Certainly was a gentleman. I'll always remember when I first joined the site and was still a student at UConn, there were some who weren't so welcoming to me because I happened to go to school there. But there was Northshore, who went out of his way to make me feel welcomed. RIP

Didn't have the pleasure to have met Bill but remember his posts. Nice guy and great fan

RIP Bill

RIP Northshore, heartfelt condolences to Bill's loved ones

Very very sorry to hear. RIP and condolences to family and loved ones.

This causes me to remember another redmen.dotcomer who left us early, if only I could remember his handle exactly....old timer, went to SJU when it was in Bklyn moving to Queens, found himself at the end living in Louisville of all places. I think he had "fifty-seven" in his handle, his wife sent me a pm to let me know of his passing and like NORTH SHORE another great guy, passionate fan and a true Redmen.

Never had the pleasure of meeting North Shore. I always enjoyed reading his posts and saw the respect that he received from other members of Redmen .com. RIP . The idea of a get together sounds good .
