North Philadelphia post game

My goodness.

I definitely take back what I said about my feelings against Lavin not making Sheed available to the media.

Clearly, I had NO clue what this kid has to deal with.

He pretty much has an entire city pulling for him. You'd be hard pressed to find people in Queens wearing SJU gear like they were in the video.

My condolences to Rysheed and his family. Just wow.

This news makes me want him to have his biggest game next week and blow up bigger than Steph Curry.

Condolences to him and his family, my prayers are with him through these tough times.

Something that I have to say about SJU is that in my experience they offer alot of support to students that are going through tough times. Which is a great thing to have.

Rysheed does not need this. How can this kid survive this year? And we thought we had problems. My prayers and condolences to you and your family.

Terrible what Jordan is going through. Of course I hope he can play but there are more important things in life. If he can't play, Lavin needs to give the ball to Branch and let him run the team. If we are stuck with Harrison and Greene running the offense, this will be a real test.

@GregLogan1: #SJUBB Frosh PG Rysheed Jordan attended viewing of deceased family member in Philly. Jordan to talk w/Steve Lavin; likely to play vs Xavier.

Really feel for this kid...no 19 year old should have to deal with this stuff...being oldest child with bunch of younger siblings who probably look up to him makes it tougher...its not like he can just escape...

Completely tragic. Gut instinct tells me that Sheed is going to end up being a great role model for kids in similar circumstances from his neighborhood.
I have a tremendous amount of respect for him on and off the court.

Our thoughts and prayers are wish Rysheed and his family.
In my 33 seasons of following the team I dont know of another player who has had to go through the hardships, trials and tribulations that Rysheed has had to face, and in his partcular case all in his very first season.
No doubt the good lord has a very special plan for this young man in the long run.

I actually hope when he gets drafted it is to a team that is as far from Philadelphia as possible.

A kid like that has too many "hanger-ons".

Make some money and move his mom and siblings out of there.

On the last Red Storm Report on SNY, Jordan said his goal was to make the NBA, make some $$, and go back to his hometown and buy all the children sneakers and coats. I thought that was awesome.

Yea agreed for atleast the first part of his career he should completely change his environment.

OKC , Miami and the spurs are 3 teams where I see he could really hit the ground running his rookie year.

I have no problem with that.

I do have a problem with all of the people who will expect it from him.
