Time to move on to the next game.

They are 1-3 on the year. Won their only MAAC game at St. Peter's, but out of conference has not been kind:

They have four players averaging double-figure points, but all 4 are barely doing so (and it's not like they are in a Kentucky-like platoon, which is hampering the numbers):

Former SJU assistant Chris Casey is the head coach, as most on here know. Former Johnnie grad assistant Will Lanier is one of his assistants, and Ron Rutledge's son R.J. is the director of basketball operations. One of the other assistants, Kareem Brown, is an alum, and former SJU football player. So, lots of St. John's connections on the staff.

I played with Kareem.

I'd be disappointed if this game is closer than 15.

After all the inconsistency this group of players has had we are still just expecting blow-out wins? We have played down to our competition the last four years so I am expecting the worst; hopefully we are starting to get the effort part of it and will come out intensely; not looking at the name on the front of the opponents jersey. We shall see.......................

This group spoke and played a good game against the big teams last week. If they come out tonight at full speed it will be another good sign. While we are focused on their offense, or lack of an offense as some posters assert, this team is at the top of the country in steals (29th), blocks (20th) and rebounds (10th). I know its early December, but the numbers are still noteworthy.

Hopefully we will come out playing with a sense of urgency and build a big enough lead for Christian and Amar to get some burn. Our top 6 guys should be trying to play well enough from the beginning that they will only need to play 20-25 minutes each.

A game in between a tough loss to Gonzaga and a showdown with Syracuse on Saturday. Let's take care of business tonight and get to 5-1.

Starting five of Branch, Greene, Harrison, Stewart, and Obekpa.

Jordan and Pointer not starting but are playing. Here we go again with this.

Makes no sense to not start Pointer today. He's been the best player for this team so far.

Maybe it does make sense, but we just know why that's so.
