I think they should six man rotation all the way, and have McLean start in the rotation. Senga and Holmes need it.

Give a short leash for Montas since Megill has no options after this year + Tong looks ready to go.

Still don’t think it’d be crazy to DFA Stanek for one of the minor leaguers as well + move Holmes to the pen.

What a debut Sunday for Mets prospects.

Jonah Tong, after destroying AA: 1.59 era, 162 K in102 inn-
Yesterday in 1st game pitching for Syracuse after promotion- 5 2/3 inn, 0 R, 2h, 9 K!

The results were stellar, but I don’t think he was nearly as dominant as the #s indicate. He pitched against a really bad team.

AAA is the first level they use the MLB ball, so maybe he just needs a little time to adjust. He was locating really well, but I didn’t see the filth he is capable of and what we saw from McLean.

Nice start to AAA. I like the “only” 2 walks. Mets need more guys who throw strikes. Long way to go. He probably ends this season at AAA and may even start there in 2026. He’s a smart kid. Little Ron Darling personality to me.

Lindor is often cited as the emotional leader of this team, so maybe the team often takes after him with the streakiness?

Cause there have been stretches this summer where Lindor was approaching being useless at the plate. Now he’s 14 for his last 20 with multiple homers. Just glad we are in the midst of one of his good stretches

Back-to-back wins! Our first win streak in months. Losing Alvarez will stink. There was really no reason for the aggressive running there.

I hadn’t seen this news. Shoulder clot is probably season ending. I hate to see injuries even on rivals.

I expect we will get bad news on Alvarez after the MRI. Stupidly sliding HEADFIRST when a simple feet first pop up slide will do especially for a guy recovering from a hamate bone injury early in the year. Unnecessary risk, undisciplined play.

Again, 3 homers in the same game indicates to me that he has lots of natural power. You can't get that lucky 3x in a game. What a rebound after that 0-26 start.
Totally respect your logic but hot is hot and 1 hr 3 games out of 6 impresses me more.

As a kid pre white chocolate my pitching was mind boggling my fielding won awards my hitting sucked. But I had a couple good games a year multiple home runs but didn’t change the fact that my hitting sucked till senior year

Just read that Alvarez to IL. Gotta teach him to do no head first slides.
I didn’t hear “season ending” so besides NOT being hurt it might be the best possible outcome.

He’s a frustrating player but like a wild horse he continues to hurt himself. A player with a previous hand injury needs to be smarter.
