New York Mets 2025 Season

We can now win less than 50% of games for the rest of the season and still win 90. I hate to say it, but we are pretty much a lock for the playoffs and it’s only June. Fangraphs has us at 95% odds.
I like the bold “pushing all your chips in the middle of the table” statement.

We need more of that. Screw all the Mets’ innumerable head scratching failures of the past. If you cannot face your fears, you will never overcome them.

As an aside, I have a therapist on retainer, so I know of what I speak.

I'm all-in on saying the Mets are a top three contender for a World Series this year. They're going to have Manaea and Montas, Siri, and Vientos all returning. And, unlike having Eppler, I do think Stearns is smart enough to be aggressive at the deadline to try to get that cherry on top. These aren't opportunities to take for granted, and trade for Darin freaking Ruf.

That said, my Mets fandom neurosis is still in me because I find myself worried about the Braves despite them being 14.5 GB in the division + 9.5 in WC. I won't feel better until we deliver them a knockout punch this month.

Too much baseball left to have anything “locked up”. Head down, win games. That’s why games like last night are so satisfying. A game we could have lost they pulled it out. Fillies and Barves have to see and feel that.

I am not arguing against trades. I do hope and have faith that Stearns will make the right decisions for now and the future. I don’t want to see another Crow-Armstrong deal. We are starting to see the fruits of the Stearns/Cohen rebuild of our farm system. I am not giving up 4 (I actually saw a trade) top prospects for Jarran Duran. Forgetting that Boston probably doesn’t want to trade him it would be crazy.

The difference is that this is a World Series contending team, and getting a couple of impact guys on top of this roster could be the difference in a late inning situation and getting that extra run you need to win it all. I'd love Aroldis Chapman, Pete Fairbanks, AJ Puk, or another reliever of that elk. I'm a little less concerned about adding a big hitter, especially since McNeil has shown to be serviceable enough at CF, but if we can get a guy like Cedric Mullins for a mid-level prospect, I'd be hard pressed to say no.

I am all in on additional relief pitching. Another lefty could be huge. That shouldn’t cost an outrageous haul.

Mullins would be fine. I was more going after chasing Duran from Boston. Some people seem willing to gut the farm and I just don’t see him worth that. Eh, it’s silly season so none of this is based on reality.

I'm 55 and literally for the first time ever that I can remember just learned from Ron about how some outfielders like holding their hand in their glove a certain way ) pinky and other 2 fingers on one side ) that make the glove bigger

This is why I think our broadcast team is the best ever
