I don’t think the two are mutually exclusive. It will help our schedule but Texas Tech has no fan base in NYC to help us draw a good crowd.
 
Incremental progress is better than none at all. Do some winning and we will be able to book bigger name Power 5 teams. I'm fine with this one.

I agree. But that’s why you take this game. It doesn’t limit you from scheduling other games. Give your fan base who is constantly talking about lack of a home slate, a top 25 visitor.

It’s probably not easy to get Duke or even the rung below. This doesn’t make it any harder.
 
If we are not going to improve our OOC, let’s schedule Towson, UC-Irvine, Samford, Fairfield, Illinois State, Northeastern, Murray State, UNC-Asheville, Incarnate Word, Delaware State, Old Dominion, Vermont, St. Thomas Aquinas.

At the very least we can break losing streaks against the above mentioned programs.

Little bit perplexed by this one espken. Are you saying Texas Tech is not a good program, attendance aside? They've danced 5 of the past 7 years all as single digit seeds. Boy, would we love to be able to say that!

I’m in no way knocking Texas Tech. Just saying tongue in cheek about the low/mid majors teams that smacked us around. I would like another shot at them, rather than the Merrimack and the Mississippi Valley States of the world.
 
I would hope it is Norte Dame. A national name with supposedly a large subway alumni witch could draw a decent crowd.
I also do not understand why UCONN draws so much negativity. They put fannies in the seats which means dollars.

I too would like Notre Dame if for nothing else than I love seeing parish Catholics beating up on cathedral Catholics.
 
Went to Texas Tech-Duke in 2018 at MSG when Zion, RJ etc. were there. Granted there was the Duke hype that year but the TT fans most definitely traveled for a Thursday night game in December.
 
At least it is a step in the right direction. Playing sister mary's of the poor 10 times a year is depressing. Also we have to pay to watch these terrible games.

We aren't ever going to be playing a Gonzaga type OOC sched but shoot man give us something for our entertainment dollar
 
I seem to remember playing ND regularly years ago. At their on campus court where they had a huge advantage. SJU wanted to play them at Alumni Hall, because MSG attracted too many Irish fans and we would lose our home court advantage.
ND refused to play in Queens, as I recall.

Because UConn fans are irritating along with cuse fans. Nova draws a good crowd but they are at least somewhat respectful
 
If you ask me, this thread is starting to look like one of those threads where a legitimate big man and or a dead eye shooter was going to transfer here from years past. (It took awhile but we did get Soriano who is coming along nicely, I am still for the shooter).

You mean when they were in the Big East? Lol

Haven't played them since they left in 2013.

PS UND would have no say in where conference games were played.

Also played them in AH in odd numbered years 63-71. Only 1 noncon at MSG ever.
