At this point, hes a D list celebrity.
Thursday afternoon I am taking my wife to the Movies. An older lady, probably 70s stops me and says I love this team, what time do you think the game will start? I mean old lady’s ready for St. John’s basketball?
I was flummoxed. A couple of years ago that conversation would be something like “you think they will ever win again” or “well maybe next year”. Either that or she would just give me a dirty look.
As I just finished my 2nd walk of the day ( This time in shorts ) I did the same exact route as my 2nd walk thursday and I'd say like 75% of the people who were just walking the streets in regular clothes all were saying " Go Johnnie's " Then when I'm about to make my final turn to head back who do I see ? Our Carmine A Mrs Carmine and the OG Mrs Carmine his mom they made it up for the game today

No matter what happens today, probably one of my favorite teams I ever followed as a fan up there for me with 99 and 00 teams, 14 and 22 Rangers, 99 Knicks, 06 and 99 Mets. Ofcourse 07 and 11 Giants! LFG

When we made the final four in 1984/1985, after beating Southern in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament in Salt Lake City, St. John's second game was also played on a Saturday against you guessed it, Arkansas. The final score was St. John's 68, Arkansas 65. Let's go Johnnies.
