NCAA corruption case poised to take down Hall of Fame coaches, top programs
Of this newest list I wonder how much of it actually indicts the schools since I assume these "loans" are based upon the players getting a professional contract.
That's what I was thinking... can they tie the loan to them choosing the school? How can they hold the school accountable?

Wouldn't such loans have to show up on FASFA/Financil aid documents?
I know that Lavin had his detractors here but at least he did not cave to the sleazy Whitehead stuff
Or maybe he got out bid.

K is like the drug kingpin who has his street hustlers doing all the dirty work. I’m sure that he’s insulated himself quite well in anticipation of this exact scenario. Some graduate assistant that we’ve never heard of will take the fall for the entire program, that is if they don’t get a complete pass because they represent all that’s good about college basketball :S :S

I understand this stuff was happening in the 80's and 90's as college sports was evolving into big business but when you read the allegations it was pretty brazen with a stupid paper trail left behind for this to be happening now, with the paper trail left behind I am not sure why people thought this would not come to light. I do not believe one head coach at these programs that will insist they knew nothing was going on. Let them burn.

yes they'd definitely be ineligible and invalidate NCAA wins and possibly other NCAA violations but as far as the criminality it almost seems against the schools' interests for players to go pro.

In addition to Marcellus Earlington, St. John's will host Kahlil Whitney, Precious Achiuwa and Lester Quinones for tomorrow's game against Seton Hall. #sjubb
Are we still in the mix for PA? I thought that ship had sailed.

So UConn is not on the list and yet they find themselves under an NCAA investigation for recruiting.

In light of what’s unfolding, I expect a lot of ships may come back to port.

We are....to cheap to pay. Catchy but not sure that should be our recruiting slogan.:)

Aw, c'mon, we all know the jarvii did it for humanitarian reasons.B) : ;)

He better have, because it certainly wasn't because of performance. And, I recall it was literally only a few hundred bucks, not thousands.... Thus, the disparate treatment of SJU versus the big boys.
WRT Abe Keita........I think it was $300 / month.
And most of it went to paying for calls back to this family in Africa if I recall.

$300 x 12 =$3600 x 4=$14,400.
He scored 135 points for us.
Rounded up it is $107 per point.
Not bad
