National Championship Game

IMO this year's national championship game only proves that being a scumbag and shaddy program pays off.

I can't speak for everyone, but for me this is probably the least compelling national championship of my NCAA viewing lifetime. I'll be watching because it's an excuse to get together with some friends, but other than that, I don't really care. If my friends flake tomorrow it would be a toss-up between watching alone or doing some work.

I kind of agree but think it is better for college basketball if UCONN wins. I can't believe I just said that.

Believe it, my schadenfreude machine is working OT on UK. Taking Harrison twins from my Terps, having fans in barbershop pole pants all over the place. It's enough right there to put the malocchio on Cal...

Don't worry. If UK wins, I give it about three years before the NCAA voids their championship. ;-)

I was in Dallas for the Final 4 but due to work obligations, I couldn't stay through for the Championship game tonight....I am so glad I didn't waste the vacation days!....2 of my most despised programs playing tonight....ugh....

On a side note, if you haven't been to a Final 4, I would put it on your bucket list......It's really a lot of fun.....

Hard to believe it's 10 years since our "brain trust" at St. John's passed over John Calipari for Norm Roberts, Coach Calipari is playing for his second National Title and in his fourth Final 4 since then.

Any SJU fan who calls him a cheater (lol) or says they wouldnt want him to be our coach can enjoy 10 more years of getting our brains beaten in by everyone else in college bball. Maybe that will change the hater's minds. Because the one opportunity we had to turn this thing around went right down the toilet. St. Johns had the chance to bring John Calipari in to be the coach and turn this disaster around and experience success we can only dream of and they passed on it in favor of Norm Roberts. We deserve everything we get because the loser mentality starts crom the top and goes down. Ineptitude at it highest levels. Does anyone really think when Lavin gets canned whomever is brought in as the next coach will do any better?

Kind of like Stalin vs Hitler

Does Cal have a son like Pitino has? Dick Calipari anyone?

My son, who lives in Dallas, is at the game tonight. He's rooting for Pukon. But he texted me that he saw a couple at the game wearing St. John's gear. I told him he should have asked them who they were. :)

I'm too young to understand why you guys hate UConn, and I hate Kentucky, and it would be better for college basketball if UConn wins. Since I became a fan we've regularly been great against UConn. Beating them down during the hardy year, best them at MSG two years ago. Beat them in the BET with AMase. Only loss I've watched I think is the harkless year, but it's hard for me to hate them cause we've generally beaten them since I became a fan.

My hate for Uconn can be traced to 1 thing. When we play them at the garden the beer lines are much longer. Oh and a lot of their fans are assholes

That being said I'm torn. I don't think I mind too much if they win and I'm pretty impressed by them today

When comparing us to these teams, what sticks out to me is how well coached they are. Kentucky had been playing man to man all game, and just switched to a zone out of nowhere. UConn knew exactly what to do, where to be, and who to pass to, and they worked the ball abound effectively. We look she'll shocked when a zone is thrown at us, which again falls on the coaching.
