N.C. State Coach On The Way Out

So he's been fired, but will finish out the season. How does that happen? As an aside, who's he recruiting?

Per Jeff Goodman
NC State's Mark Gottfried will not return next season, source told ESPN. Will finish out the season.

Hey Maverick Rowan and Abdul-Malik Abu :)

I don't know how patient the AD at Loyola Marymount is, but Mike Dunlap is finishing his third year and his conference record is 5-9.

They have had 2 winning seasons in the last 25 years.

If Dunlap continues to lose two out of three games, in conference play, I doubt he'll be given an extension. Once you get past the top three teams, this is a weak conference, with coaches being fired with regularity.

So you're saying we're getting Maverick AND Dunlap come April?

Everything is awesome.

I have no idea if either is coming to SJU, nor did I imply that I did know. The thread was about a coach on his way out, so I mentioned Dunlap's lack of success. Loyola lost to St. Mary's by 33 last night. Even if he was fired, why would he return to SJU? He has no connection to Mullin, and there is no staff vacancy. You're awesome.

When Dunlap had Yukon on the ropes last season and couldn't finish it out, I lost all remaining respect for him ;)

Gotcha.

So is he replacing St. Jean or Mitch?
