You do realize how 1 sided affairs are on this site right? This guy has yet to be criticized in the least for writing 600 words about 1 single poster that has no relevance to the site. Even as such, I am still (somehow) the whipping boy even in a thread dedicated to demonizing me. Had I written a 600 word manifesto about anyone on here, I would have crowds calling for me to be banned. I have also seen people on here or JJ (same crowd) have thoroughly searched the internet to try and blackmail me and come up with new stuff to try and bash me about. Don't say it didn't happen, I've seen it on JJ. Not once did someone have the balls to say "Ok guys enough...he does get ragged on a little too much...he's still a very passionate SJ fan and he's one of us". To the 3 or 4 people on this site who actually don't play favorites and have defended me in the past, thank you for your courage. Now how do you delete your account?

And, get over yourself! No one on the board "hates" you, we all have lives and things to do, the focus in our lives isn't on "Joe from the message board."
Plenty of people on here, and the other message board, disagree about nearly everything there is to discuss in relation to St Johns basketball. But we keep coming back, because its a lively debate. Disagreement with your point of view is not what people are taking issue with.
You didn't have a manifesto written about you because of two posts people disagreed with.
It's your tone and posting style that offends people. The constant hyperbole, the ridiculous analogies, and blanket statements. And that's just regarding basketball, to say nothing of your insensitive and misinformed tangents about the Catholic Church, higher education at other universities, the hurricane and a myriad of other topics!
I don't want you banned, and I have nothing against you personally. I don't feel the site needs any more moderator involvement because public discussions have a way of sorting themselves out. Keep posting, but if you act a fool, expect the criticism.
The focus isn't on me? Is that why someone made my picture their avatar in the past? Is that why someone on JJ and likely with an account on here too tried to dig for more on the internet totally off the site just to target me more? Is that why someone just wrote a 600 word manifesto about me and only me? You can't for a second act like I'm not unfairly treated on many occasions on here. My views on the Catholic church are backed by evidence and felt by many, so don't say they are misinformed. A different opinion is not misinformed...it just doesn't fit your ideal and that's fine. The hurricane talk is just a strawman...it was clear in that situation I wasn't trying to offend anyone but people use it as an excuse to continue beating a dead horse.
This is FWIW because frankly I skip over your posts which I would agree all can do if they find them as tedious and sophomoric as I do. But I would suggest to you that you stop being so paranoid and taking things so personally. Much of the criticism towards you is warranted and you need to incorporate some of the suggestions offered rather than trying to come across as a martyr. I can guarantee you there is no conspiracy here.
Oh Lord in heaven forgive me, but I agree with Joe3 on this. While you piss me off about the way you talk about the Catholic Church, and I have no idea of some boogeyman trying to gather your personal information to discredit you over college basketball msuings, but your overall premise is correct.
There should never be a thread created to single out a poster, no matter how much you may vehemently disagree with them.
I am perfectly fine with back and forth needling up to a point, but this is too much. If one poster wants to create a manifesto on another, do it via PM or just tell the person you are going to ignore them altogether.
Blame the victim. Always easier than the 3 or 4 people on here who at one point have even said I get more crap than I deserve. This site is a place for everyone to step on my face to climb the social ladder. If someone wanted to join this site I would advise them not to, and to simply read without posting because it's full of an older demographic of men who have not shed their breakfast club days of trying to be the cool kids perhaps in part due to a midlife crisis. I would also tell them that only certain opinions are welcomed and if you say the wrong thing there will be an omen on you that is permanent and cannot be washed off. This forum is vicious and the very existence of this thread in the first place is telling. Someone cries he doesn't like my posts even though he can just scroll down, yet people are coming in not to tell him that or to question a 600 word manifesto, but to get their punches in and join him. Many people on here truly should be ashamed of themselves. Many of you have families with children...I can only hope you would defend them and stick up for them. It's a scary thing knowing that some on here are middle-aged fathers by day, and come on here at night and try to bully by night.
Thanks (I think) for proving my point. I think this thread is over the top (as Kranmars stated very well) but I was trying to suggest you keep some perspective and understand that people would prefer you continue to contribute to the site but are just asking you tone it down a bit. You somehow turn that into hoping that I defend my children because I don't defend you; frankly, it would be comical if it wasn't so bizarre. Sorry I commented..........

I've told you this before, and I'll repeat it here: I have no problem with your obvious passion for St. John's basketball. All I ask is that you pause and take the time to think and self-edit before hitting the "Submit" button. Had you done that, comments like your bizarro-world comparison to Jerry Sandusky and your over-the-top rants about political correctness (which, frankly, I don't get) wouldn't appear in your posts.
I don't think you really want to "go away," and if that's the case, then don't ... just tone it down a bit.
