Mussini back to Italy

Watch Mussini will stay & then Ponds will be seen in China trying on a uniform :) Ah, joy of being a Johnny fan.

I read that as he is most likely coming back for 1 more year. Barring injury, I don't see how coming back could hurt him as he now will only play his natural position.

LOL, Paultz like I said in some earlier posts we won't know what our team looks like until sometime in September when all have arrived and accounted for on campus. Even that is subject to change as we have had guys (Sima) jump mid flight. Just the life of a St. John's fan whatever the reason.

This seems to be more the norm in college basketball in general. I hope he stays another year in which he will definitely get minutes due to his shooting ability. Either way it looks like we will have it least six scholarships available for the 2018-19 season and at least three more the following year. Need big time recruiting.

It makes sense why he would leave if the original presumption was that Simon would be spending most of his time at SF -- he probably now figures that Wilson needs to get his share of minutes, which then means Simon shifts to the backcourt if they are in at same time, eating some of Mussini's minutes that already stood to drop a little.

I think where there's smoke there's fire. Mussini has flaws, but he was probably still penciled in for 8-9 ppg. Depth takes a big hit if he's gone.

I have that sickening feeling in the pit of my stomach, kind of like I did when Lou Monte(no relation) kicked the bucket. Say it ain't so....Frederico!!!!

I assume you mean this guy & not some hit man you hung out with in Bensonhurst. :)

Back when I was in college guys who got dumped would go to a record store and make the girl a mixed tape with lots of Journey songs. Usually didn't work but I say you give it a try.

Look we will miss the shooting but in reality he could only play in spurts due his lack of quickness on point guards . I'll miss him . I really liked him and came here when we were nothing and baron roster wise . He took a lot of crap for his D playing out of position .

Really improved his defensive effort. For someone not especially quick he managed last year to stay in front of his man. Hope he stays, need three point shooters. If not, thanks for the two years.

Damn! I would very much like to see Mussini stay. In my opinion his skill development has been on an impressive trajectory and he is slowly getting stronger. I am fully aware of his flaws, but this is a really hard-working, tough kid. I definitely think he could continue to make meaningful contributions.

Lastly, he is my son's favorite player......so, bumber if he goes.

Mussini will be missed and he can light it up coming off the bench - averaged over 8 pts in less than 20 minutes is pretty good and was always a threat to get hot. I thought he was quicker last year than his freshman year and was hoping to see continued improvement.
He is such a threat from deep, you can put him in the corner and essentially play 4 on 4 because his man has to stay on him.

Seems a bit strange to me - haven't there been many if not countless negative critiques - even disparagement - of his overall play and
Now the contrast - remorse that he might leave...wow
All the best Federico whether here or
"over there"

Or he could move around and you could play 5 on 5. I'm sure all and sundry will be shocked that I am worried who's going to get the 5 minutes per game he was slated for given the present roster make up. Seriously at least he was injury insurance and we all know someone is going to miss some time over the course of the year. But my biggest concern is for Monte. Stay strong paisan. Yes, I'm Italian in case you were wondering, just not enough to cloud my judgement of Fred. ;)
