Just received this:

I am thrilled to invite all St. John's alumni to attend the press conference
on Wednesday, April 1, that will introduce one of our own, Hall of Famer
Chris Mullin, as St. John's new men's basketball coach.

Please join us at 1:30 p.m. in Carnesecca Arena for this historic occasion as we
open an exciting new chapter in the history of St. John's University athletics.

WEAR RED to show your school spirit, and join us as we welcome basketball legend

.

Would absolutely love to go. Have huge proposal due by end of day tomorrow and can't cut out of work. You going?

I'm going to try. I was out all day today because of a medical thing, and have an exam tomorrow, but I'm going to try to. Too bad - would have liked to see you there.

Beast, all my best wishes with your exam as well. We're going to be needing a healthy you in the Mullin years.

Hysterical! I just took the plunge back to NY, and happened to pick the week that Indiana's government made national headlines while St. John's welcomes back it's "other" favorite son. Timing, it seems, truly is everything.
I'll be there tomorrow, can't wait!

Piles of work to do in the Office before I leave for a business trip next week. I missed half the day yesterday due to a dental appointment which all leads up to me not being able to make the Press Conference. For those who go, take good notes (although I hope to be able to listen to it on the Fan). My daughter will be representing the family though and although she will be coming home tonight for Easter Break, I doubt her recap will be better than some of those here.

.

To put it in context I haven't been this excited since Jarvis and Norm were fired because it's time for hope

Really curious to see if Sheed will be in attendance or if being in Philly matters more to him today.

Obekpa not so much.

RJ might be in Philly but maybe not. Think he posted an Instagram photo of him in Philly like 3-4 days ago, he could be back on campus by then though. Is it spring break for St. John's students?

Absolutely!
Hope reigns.
It's the most wonderful time of the year (decade?) for the SJU community!!!
All good...and
All the best

Not sure about Spring break.

But the head coach is an NBA HOFer.

Would Sheed prefer to be surrounded by a bunch of yes men in local Philly or a guy who has accomplished what Sheed can only dream of?

Even if Sheed is preparing himself for the draft, I think he should show up because he'd witness actually credibility that he hasn't seen in the past 2 years.

We are out of the Dark Ages
(AD 476 between the fall of Rome and the Italian Renaissance I believe - or more apt the post Roberts/Jarvis epoch)
For Paul, "And away we go!"
Wow how nice it feels!

since its at CA, they chould open it up to some local HS coaches and their recruits. Would be cool to LIU Diallo and his coach and Rawle Alkins and coach Joe there wouldnt it? start building a relationship now!

Any redmen. Com guys going?
I'd go but a little thing called work gets in the way. if it was in Manhattan I would gave gone but CA is a little out of the way. MY WatchESPN app will be fired up though.

Diallo is in Chicago today hanging out with Ronald McDonald.

Here is a video I created. I put it on another thread but figured I'd share here since the conf is today. Audio is a bit iffy in the first 10 seconds. Keep in mind I'm not a professional, it would be nice if someone with real experience could make one of these. Someone who knows how to include Video could do it up great. The Kevin Garnett Timberwolves one is sweet.
