Movin' On

Brian agree with your last statement, but wheeler was just ok not a great rebounder gets lost in to any games and at 6-9 try’s To defend on the perimeter   Guards blow by him. Good 6th  man. If we could and we should find someone more talented ,A 6-6 or 6-7 good shooter and strong rebounder as a starter would be great

Wheeler could follow Julian's path if he were good enough to get an invite to participate in the NBA camp and not hire an agent and get feedback before making a decision to return.  Personally, I hope he returns.  He had to grow into his role which was totally different than Purdue.  As the season progressed, he showed improvement as his scoring/game was better during conference play vs the season as a whole. same for his rebounding.  His shooting isn't bad at all and during conference play he was 49% overall and 42% from 3.  Maybe he would fit into Champ's shoes.

Regarding Wheeler, when he said he intended to be here two seasons, he was a 4 ppg guy. He became 3.5x that after turning the corner. Would love to see a full season of 14 ppg Wheeler, but if he has to strike while the iron is hot, we can't really blame him. Good thing we'll 100 percent have Stanl . . .
Wheeler improved his numbers from Purdue, but he didn't really move the needle any as far being a guy that has a shot at an NBA roster next season.  He's not on a single NBA top 100 board.  If they put out a top 200 board I'm not sure he'd even make that.

Wheeler's options next year are playing in a different country professionally (which a lot of guys aren't trying not to go over to Europe right now with everything that's going on) or come back for another year, improve his stock, show consistently for an entire year, and possibly turn himself into a G-League or 2 way contract guy.  It should be a pretty easy decision, I'd be shocked if he wasn't here next year.  He can probably make more money from NIL being a key guy on a team in New York than what he'd probably make right now playing a lower level league outside of Europe with less exposure.

There's a 0% chance Wheeler gets a camp invite.  Posh would have a much better chance getting an invite than Wheeler would.

I'd like to see Wheeler come back next season as well but he will be 24 years old when the 2022-23 season begins. Not many "kids" that age are still playing college ball.
