Mount Rushmore 4 Favorite Johnnie’s

Doesn’t have to be the 4 best players. Doesn’t have to be guys that played before you became a fan ( hence why I wouldn’t have Mullin Berry on my list since it wouldn’t be honest to put them on )

1.Zuby
2.Malik
3.Boo
4Artest

I reserve the right to change it from whatever I picked 2 years ago

Carnesecca
Mullin
Berry
Pitino
The 4 most important people in my lifetime for SJU hoops!

Criteria differ. Players and Coaches? Players you saw only? Best all time or favorite? Etc.

Mine would be:

Carnesecca
Mullin
Berry
Ellis

Honorable Mention: Dove; Sealy; Artest; Mark Jackson; Lapchick; Pitino (so far); G. Johnson; Zawoluk
Sentimental Mention: Alagia; Plair; Gilroy; Singleton; Barkley; Bootsy; Lopez; Zen; Harvey; Hatten; Dlo; 30 others

I’m fine with Coaches but like Otis mentioned we have to add a 5th which is an automatic

Paul Massell the most influential Johnnie Fan of all time and the founder of the St John’s Internet Universe

Harrison - he came within a hair of getting jettisoned with good reason, got the help he needed along with a coach who cared about his kids, and turned it all around.

Mullin - forget about the coaching chapter, objectively not cut out for it. But without question gave us 4 years of pure joy and terrific ball. Hope he returns to the fold someday.

Alagia- was the star of the very first Johnny teams i followed. I've gotten to know him a tiny bit since and is an even better person that the giy who won the Naismith award for best under 6 ft player.

4th guy? I'd leave that open for all the very good men that were a joy to watch on the court and also were really good guys, even those who had their troubles. Berry, Amar Alibegovic, Zendon, Felipe, George Johnson, Beaver, Jayson, Bill Wennington and many more.

Wait! How could Looie not head this list? The most beloved Johnny of all time without a doubt.

I'm reserving a spot for Rick, who may have already earned it, but he has only just begun.

Too many "greats" for just 4 spots. Hence my overly extensive additional names as honorable and sentimental mentions...

Tarik Turner- he played 1on1 with during a practice when i was starting to love bball
Postell - first "high flyer" i remember seeing
D'Lo - obvious reasons
Sir'Dom - his maturation into an all-around talent by Senior year is something we probably won't see again

D'Angelo Harrison

Zuby

Kadary Richmond (probably crazy to put a guy who only played one year here, but by January of last season, I trusted him with the ball more than I have ever trusted any St. John's player i have watched. Of course we beat Arkansas if he doesn't get into foul trouble, I'll go to my grave believing that)

Shamorie Ponds (Ponds was the star when I was a student there, even though I really wished he came back for a final season, so many good memories of him willing the team to victory. Had like 44 against Marquette at CA. When he went off against Duke and Nova in the same week. Also the game @Gtown I went to with my dad that went to OT and he had that crazy steal that he jumped and snatched out of mid air)

I neglected to include and also have to add Zuby as an honorable mention on my lost...
