Moe Harkless

Nate Blue tweeted Mo is coming back after the game today. U can take it to the bank.

Great to hear MCN.
My belief is we have mo and De Lo for another season.

I think we'll have D'Lo for longer than two, but regardless I think we have 2 great kids.

Well, i'll wait until I hear it straight from the horse's mouth at the end of the season (not now), but it is certianly good news that he is leaning towards coming back.

Moe will be a pied piper for Latino players from the the NYC area. Carlos Galan and Orlando Sanchez should be proud of fellow Latino Harkless in this game.

Wonder how many sophomores have won BE Player of the Year.

There have been several. Chris Mullin won it his sophomore season. John Bagley was the first one.

Others who have won it as sophomores were: Rip Hamilton; Troy Murphy; Troy Bell; Caron Butler; Luke Harangody; and DeJuan Blair.

Moe will be the next one in line. ;)

Is Moe "Latino"?

Most people know Moe is Latino:)

A year from now or in the next Olympics two NYC players will be playing for the PR national team IMO.

FYI:
NEW YORK - - Puerto Rican NBA prospects Chris Gaston and Maurice Harkless face-up for the first time at Madison Square Garden, both players ends with a double-double and Harkless named most outstanding player of the game, as St. John’s Red Storm beat Fordham Rams 56 – 50.

Harkless, 6-foot-9 freshman, carried the Red Storm by hitting 6 of 16 shot attempts (1/4 from three-point range), and finish with 13 points; grabs a season-best 16 rebounds, 2 block shots, one assist and one steal in 40 minutes.

Moe average 14.7 points, 8.4 rebounds, 1.8 block shots, 1.7 steals and 1.3 assists per game in the 2011-12 season.

Gaston, 6-foot-7 junior, end game hitting 4 of 16 shot attempts (3/4 from the free-throw line), and finish with 11 points, 14 rebounds, 2 steals, 2 block shots and one assist in 40 minutes for the Rams.

Chris average 14.2 points, 10.3 rebounds, 1.9 block shots, 1.4 steals and 1.o assist per game in the 2011-12 season.

Yup Yup Yup. The best news of that is, unlike former generations of great SJU players, Coach Lavin will give us the ability to reload quickly with nationally available super blue chip talent. No more waiting 5 or 6 years for the NEXT pro prospect.

Interesting. . . I did not know that!

As an aside, Gaston will never sniff NBA (IMO)

Fair enough but he told me he did not plan on staying more than two years in college, I hope that changes.

Just that he is a great player but might not have the intangibles that the NBA looks for. I'll take two years, which is fine. I wish all these kids good luck in their ventures.

After lighting up Duke for 30 at Cameron I don't think I'll be heading to Capital One any time soon. A few more performances like that and I'll be fudging my undies about him leaving. It's too bad we couldn't bring him along slower. It should help recruiting overall but we'll feel the loss on the court.
On the other hand Duke has some of the ugliest white guys (players and fans) I've ever seen. I don't see them winning this year even with the refs in their pocket. Yesterday was disgraceful. The NCAA should be forced to watch that game and explain the calls one by one.

Meaning if we had a few more bodies up front he would play a little less each game and might not be putting up such spectacular numbers. He would therefore be drawing less attention.

Lavin can be a poster-child for Lavin putting out pros. The more attention, the better. Hope Mo makes it big and the rest of the recruits will flow in over coming years.

I ll take Mo 1 more year. He could be Lavins poster child at the end of next year. We can not afford to loose any one else this year w the exception of Stith. Some posters on JJ think Amir may be gone after this year to play baseball.

Amir can still play rookie ball in the summer and play b-ball in the fall...the only thing is that he will have to pay to go to school.

No he doesn't. The Reds are paying for his schooling.
