Question
Why is the Brewer pitcher coming out of the game?
He gave up 1run in 4 inning and only threw 52 pitches.

It almost makes me hope that the National hiiters go off so the Brewer manager can feel like an idiot.
Old days you stay in if you're pitching good.

Great job by Strasburg out of the pen, to give the Nats a chance to come back. For 7 and a half innings, this game was a bore, but it had an exciting finish.

P.S. Are we going to keep Yankees postseason talk in the Yankees thread, or transfer it over to here? I vote to keep Yankees talk in that thread, and talk about everything else here, but it's not my call.

No, no, no Twins vs. Yanks deferve a new thread. That was for the regular season.
Then if Yans advance to the NLCS, another new thread as with the ws if Yanks advance that far.
Every postseason series is special.
I created this thread for all the other series.
Yanks are NY, so they get their own.

I'll make a Yankees vs. Twin thread Thursday night unless someone does before I do. Doesn't matter to me.

the daily old school redman roller coaster of the day award goes to - old school redman.

I didn't have a strong rooting interest in Brewers - Nationals game, but since we will be in DC this weekend for a family wedding, I'm glad Nats won. It will add a little extra buzz to DC over the weekend.

The rookie outfielder for the Brewers looked like the kid Timmy Lupus from the Bad News Bears only he doesn’t make the play at the end. That’s tough because that play will be talked about the rest of his career.

How do you not catch that popup, that's the difference between 2-0 and 4-0 with Verlander pitching a 1hitter through 5

Also i noticed i screwed up with the placement of this thread, if any mod wants they could place it in the appropriate place.

After dropping game 3 to the Rays today, the Astros will look to close out the series tomorrow, by pitching Verlander on 3 days rest. That smells of a panic move, though knowing Verlander, it will probably work out.

I hope this series goes 5. Even if Houston wins, it would take Verlander and Cole both out of game 1, and would force Grienke to pitch a likely game 5 at Yankee Stadium, where I'm sure the Yankees fans will give him no grief whatsoever about his anxiety issues;).

If Houston wins tomorrow, I expect them to go with Cole, Grienke, and Verlander in the first three games, in that order.

Go Tampa Bay!
Saturday in the Bronx is most preferable.

Yanks 12-7 vs. TB, 8-2 at Yankees Stadium.

Crazier things have happened. I don't think Tampa will be easy (not sure there are any more easy outs of the remaining teams), but it gets us home advantage. I also think lots of Yankees fans would be in the ballpark in Tampa for any games there.

“He is very much a consideration,” Boone said. “He’s good physically. He obviously hasn't had the kind of reps or games that you'd like, but he has certainly put himself in a position to be considered.”

Good to go

Zack Britton (right ankle) and Aroldis Chapman (left hand) should both be ready for Game 1 of the ALCS, according to Boone, who added that Britton visited Yankee Stadium to receive treatment.

ritton rolled his ankle covering first base in Game 3 of the ALDS, while Chapman was struck by a bottle during Monday’s postgame celebration.

CC-omeback

Boone was encouraged by CC Sabathia's mound session on Wednesday, as the left-hander attempts to re-join the ALCS roster after left shoulder soreness kept him from participating in the ALDS.

“Frankly, he looked really good,” Boone said. “I was really excited about how he looked. He was sharp. He was able to really finish his pitches. I think he's feeling considerably better than he was this time last week certainly.
