MIP- Most Improved Player

Many here have said it, and It's finally clicked with me.

Harrison is MUCH better being the robin than a batman. When he can hit a momentum 3, or get fouled it's huge, but when he has to create those opportunities himself, he struggles and it ultimately leads to a bad shot.

Defense can be argued to be the most improved part of our team game but I think it's ball movement which coincided with Jordan and Branch getting more time.

Our ball movement opens up so many things for all of our players like Harrison and Obepka and others. We sometimes fall back into bad habits but when we start passing the ball well it becomes contagious especially when we start moving it around quickly

Jakarr sampson, no question. He's playing under control and manning up on D.

Obekpa and Pointer still leave a lot to be desired. Jordan still a little too inconsistent with his jumper.

The most improved guy on the team.......Steve Lavin

Throughout most of this season he didnt have a clue. Him finally figuring it out is the sole reason for the turnaround

We can all agree that the Redmen have been playing better collectively as of late during this win streak and even during a few of the close losses. Yet some players have completely kicked their game up a couple notches.

So who do you guys believe has been our most improved player during our hot streak (since the Dartmouth game)?

Strong Arguments can be made for Jordan, Sampson, and CO. But my Vote would go to J. Sampson. His midrange is dropping. He is hitting the glass. His Defense has been superb. Its really close but to me Sampson has a slight edge over the two of them.

I agree with the 3 you mention as candidates, and would probably include Pointer.

I also agree that Sampson has shown the most improvement on a gross basis. But on some level he's simply returning to a level we saw last year and that we expected of him. Which is great.

On a net basis, i would vote CO. He has legitimately emerged as a strong catch and finish guy on the offensive end, which is giving us a new dimension. Very active on both backboards. And he's a defensive anchor. He has shown flashes previously, but he's doing it more consistently and at a higher level than I think we've seen before. That's why I'd go with him for "most improved" during the recent hot streak.

Think Branch should be included

Have to go with Obekpa, hands down. For the other two its been more about understanding their roles and how they fit into the team approach the staffing is looking for, and then executing it well. But the skills they are exhibiting we already knew were there. For Chris, a heretofore completely unseen offensive game has emerged right before our eyes. One of the more astounding overnight bball transformations I've ever seen. If he keeps working on his post moves and, next season comes back an improved FT shooter (and no one leaves early), we will be a very very good team next year.

Sheeds improvement from the beginning of the year until lately has been great. But Co looked awfull a month ago. Every game lately his offence has been getting better and better, it really amazes me,

I walked out of CA after the Dartmouth game saying to my dad "no way obekpa doesn't transfer, he looks miserable, plays miserable, doesn't get time anymore," then he stepped up big in the Creighton game later on, and has been solid ever since.

Yeah Obekpas offensive turnaround has been stunning.

Obie is clearly the most improved player of the last 2-3 weeks. Man, where did this come from and I am cetainly enjoying. Jump hooks? Solid composed post moves? The long junper vs Creighton? Amazing. Take that period out a bit longer to say 3-4 weeks and i is cleary Rysheed. Kudos to him for his play of late. You can see the talent oozing and his composure running the group just grows a bit more each game. Over last year? That is another story. I really thought Dom was poised to make that step but while he has had his moments, the overall consistent play that I thought i would see has not shown up. He is averageing 3 rpg. 6 points. I was convinced he would contribute more. Still pulling for you Dom...
