Mike Repole Belmont Piece

Ghostzapper that is an amazing record. I can’t believe you haven’t missed a Belmont in 45 years.

I can really relate to this story as it seems many of you can. I started watching thoroughbred racing as a seven year old in 1977 and have been to many memorable Belmont’s. My favorite was 1989 as Easy Goer came flying down the stretch to avenge his father’s devastating defeat in 1978. I think I had a stretch of at least ten straight Belmont’s going around then but haven’t been to many since I had kids. I have a party to go to Saturday afternoon but will be home in time to catch the race.

As Ghostzapper said the Belmont usually isn’t a dead closers race but some closers can rate in the Belmont as the pace is often manageable. I have to give the race a closer look but will definitely be rooting for both of Repole’s horses. Now that American Pharoah won the Triple Crown, I don’t mind if Justify loses. Baffert has won enough. Finally winning the Wood is pretty impressive for a kid from Queens.

Thanks for posting. I am sure there'll be a few redmen.comers at Belmont this Saturday watching Justify try for the Triple Crown. I've been there for a few Belmont Stakes over the years, this year finally got to Derby. I expect to have a few shekels wagered on Repole's horse Vino Rosso Saturday. Hope we get an honest racetrack for the race.
MJM is going to be there. He's sitting in section 114.
well 4 from 114 will be intact tomorrow :)

Just emailed my Belmont bet in to my buddy in NY. Bet both Tenfold & Vino Rosso to win - should both be decent prices, with an exacta box including the favorite. This is guaranteed to lose, so bet accordingly.

Ralph looked very much like me at the Derby! Those very ( and I mean very) occasional wins make the usual losing worthwhile...

Ralph goes to the track to talk to his friends while they waste their time trying to read the form. Rarely does he look at a horse and only places occasional dollar bets on the longest shot on the board. He does however fully appreciate the spectacle and respects the history that comes with a race that has run 150 years.

Mike will be in for an interesting afternoon tomorrow in section 2W.

Flashback to Belmont 5 years ago when my 114 buds can still laugh off losing every bet from the Ralph Mush. Today when I show up we are all gonna rub his Mushtache for reverse good luck. Btw Beast you should recognize one in this pick other than Brian and Ralph

Something for Justify to look forward to - motivation to run a little faster today!

Rule #1 of handicapping: always bet the Fun horse.

R7: Still Having Fun = $28 / 10.80 / 6.10

Congratulations winners.

Justify proved all the doubters (including me) wrong - super performance! Not sure if any of the redmen.comers had that exacta, maybe if there was a Patriot fan in the group?

This was MJMs Belmont horse. The horse had his mind on the fillies.

A fun day for some of 114 at Belmont. OLV72 was the big winner. He only lost $15. Which was a hell of a lot better than me

Not sure if the second picture of some of us 114 guys at Belmont cane out because my laptop isn’t showing it so sorry for reposting if others can view it somehow

Bottom left is me. Bottom middle is OLV72 and bottom right is Ralph.

Back left is Ron and on back right is Ray

Anyone notice the big St.John's fan getting a bunch of autographs on his programs from Bob Baffert on tv? Wonder if a Redmen poster?
