Mike Francesa: Weatherman

He's been a pompous a-hole during his whole career at WFAN
In Francesa's world, there is only one opinion - HIS
If your's should happen to differ, he'll hit that button to cut you off faster than you can say your name
He also thinks he's an expert about any topic in the world
More people are starting to realize that and are seeing him for the schmuck that he is now

I have NEVER listened to his show and I will never lower my standards enough to listen. I knew what everyone is finding out about him when I first saw "Mik'ed Up" after the news one night. Two minutes of that and I knew what a jerk he was.

Only game in town unless you consider ESPN sports radio

It's so ironic that there are only 2 sports talk radio stations in the NY metro area
Here, in South Florida (known to be a lousy sports town), we have 4 sports talk radio stations

Many thought ESPN would put a dent into WFAN. It didn't. Then there was Sirius. That hasn't either. Then ESPN bought and FM station. FAN went right back at em with that too.

For all the flack he takes he's still an institution in NYC.

Agree, Moose. But it sounds more and more like the bulk of his fans, just by who call in, are teenaged, testosterone fueled boys. I listen to him, but only sporadically as after about 10 minutes of his arrogance, I need to stop.

Really? You think his audience is that young? I'm considered young I guess but I thought most of his audience is 35-50 and up. Stable fan base he's had for years

Moose, I agree with you. The majority of callers seem more like 30--50 to me. I have never heard a teen call in. I think this older demographic is what keeps him in business. Kind of how Carson and Leno had that built senior citizen audience no matter what.

I personally enjoy listening to the callers correct him...and that happens a lot.

I listen to him almost everyday for an hour or two before he sickens me - and yes his callers are mostly 35-55 I would say.

NYC doesn't have a Jazz Station at all. It went to Country (could be wrong) and two years later became ESPN home on FM.

Technically you are right about no jazz station, but 88.3 FM, WBGO in Newark has fine jazz almost all day and Phil Schapp and his students at WKCR at Columbia U. 89.9 FM have great jazz as well, but not full time.

BRING BACK THE MAD DOG, CHRIS RUSSO! At least, he provided some balance to Mike.

Funny you should say that. I have always thought our own "Joe3" was Chris Russo in disguise, with no offence intended to either party. Both wear their heart on their sleeves, are passionate and talk / post non-stop. And are highly entertaining! :p
