He can do much better IMO, unless he has ties to the school that I don't know about, I feel he could go out and get a much more prestigious job in college basketball.

Coach Dunlap is a graduate of Loyola Marymount. It is also a very nice school with a beautiful campus. While it is a Mid Major, with the right coach it can turn out to be another Gonzaga or St Marys. There are only 300+ college jobs in the country and sometimes you have to take what is offered. Additionally, Coach Dunlap likes the West Coast. Here is hoping he gets the job.
 
If he gets the job, you know there will be a home and home with them in the not too distant future.

Hope he gets hired. Deserves the opportunity. A good guy and a great fit IMO.

Was an assistant at Loyola Marymount from 1980-85.

Going to be 57 in May. How many more chances is he going to have to get a head coaching gig ????

West Coast Conference is very similar to The Big East, in some ways. No football, mostly Catholic schools.

Also LMU has a good nucleus returning and solid recruits, if they stick around.

I'd honestly be a very surprised if we played them.
 
It's a great fit for Mike. The school has some BB history and he could make the program relevant again. I could see us playing them in 3 or 4 years, and it could benefit both schools.

If that's accurate, good for him. Seems like a good coach and a good man who had a big impact on our program during his two seasons with us. Congrats and I hope he rocks it in his new job.
