For people in the city, that's upstate. Although I did map it out, but since I confirmed it is a Friday night in the summer and living in Hampton Bays, or even Queens, that was a non-starter. :)

It's upstate, although not THAT far upstate. I couldn't go last year (or this year because of conflicts), but I know a bunch of people who went with their kids last year. It's a great atmosphere at that place. Cheap, good place to watch a game and plenty of stuff to do with the kids if they get bored of the game (also lots of interactive stuff with the kids that goes on during the game). If you are able to go, you won't be disappointed.

I know it's not far, just playing with the stereotype of city people thinking anything north of New Rochelle is upstate. I'm even venturing to Pelham for the Johnnies golf outing on Monday.

To clarify: Anything north of Yankee Stadium is upstate. I could be persuaded that it's Fordham Road, but that's the maximum northern limit. After that it's tumbleweeds.

“I know it's not far, just playing with the stereotype of city people thinking anything north of New Rochelle the Bronx is upstate.”

I fixed it for you.

Yeah well next we're going to hear from BrookJersey who thinks Jersey is a real place. What exit???
LMF, Brooklynites who move to Jersey do refer to their locale as exits on either the Parkway or Turnpike, but they also quote our Boss over here:

They'll meet 'neath that giant Exxon sign
That brings this fair city light
Man, there's an opera out on the Turnpike
