Memphis & Cincy To Leave AAC for Big 12

As soon as they drop football, otherwise no thanks. They will look to leave first chance they can get

Unfortunately there is no way they drop football with all of the money they've invested not only in upgrading their facilities, but also their stadium.

That being said, it would be amazing to have them as part of the league. I almost wonder if we should consider adding them with some type of agreement in place that they must stay for a period of time. Would love to be able to continue to match up with the big conferences

Either move quickly on UConn and Temple because UCONN could be team ACC goes for.

Ha. Not a chance for them. BC blocks them and their crappy football program waters down a league that is at the bottom.

I would not trust them. They talked down to hoops only schools for ten years.

No to Uconn unless they drop football and Calhoun has to come out of retirement and give haircuts at bread and life

If this happens what is the over/under for Larry Browns departure from SMU?

Regardless of conference realignments, there's always an over/under on Larry Brown's staying anywhere.

How the hell is Memphis going to compete in football against the big boys of the Big 12?

From the Uconn perspective, the last two conferences they would want to be in are the AAC and the Big East. The AAC will be disbanded within two years. For Uconn to join the Big East would mean the Administration’s efforts over the past three years to upgrade their conference profile were a failure. A big fat “F”! Administrations get fired for failures. No one in Connecticut is going to admit that Uconn will never be UVA The Big 10 can name their price, Uconn will pay it. With the Big 10 having their conference tourney at MSG in a few years, the writing is on the wall.

Reading the UConn fan forum, a good number of them are delusional in believing that the Big Ten will be their next stop. Yesterday, their (awful) football team drew 22,000 -- hardly Big Ten-type numbers. Sorry, Huskies fans, but it ain't gonna happen.

I'm not sure about that. It's not like they are moving their tourney there permanently I think so I think it's more about getting to NY for rutgers and md and not about uconn getting a bailout

Penn State and Rutgers will not want to share this area. Does uconn football bring them anything? It is strictly football for the BCS conferences
