Darius Miles too, but he never played for us

Felipe, most overrated player in the history of basketball

Yea its funny you said that because when i saw him and Melo sitting together at the game i thought that we are seeing the two biggest disappointments in NYC basketball history together

If Elijah Ingram could have changed his shift at Wendy's, would their have been a seat available?

But one of the nicest people to put on an SJU uniform in my 35 years of following the team. I would take him on my team any day.

Calipari got more in the last two years at Kentucky. I expected at least 2 or 3 by our wizard but he did go after guys that were borderline high school all Americans. ...Norvel Pelle, Nurideen Lindsey, Jakarr Sampson, Rico Gathers, and Maurice Harkless.
Unfortunately none of them are with this team this year but in all honesty if they were Lavin would have been extended last year.

to be fair to him he was given expectations that were never realistic in the first place

Felipe should have been class of 92 not 94. He peeked in HS

Yes Felipe didn't live up to the unfair expectations and advanced billing, but what's the point in denigrating him about it now? Besides by all accounts he was and is a fine human being who gives an awful lot of his time and energy to wonderful causes. And while never the superstar he was touted to be , he was still a pretty good basketball player in his 4 years here. A few years back I was fortunate enough to get invited to play at MSG as part of a corporate event. Charles Smith happened to be in the stands that day with a group of kids who were part of a charity that he runs. He decided, spur of the moment, to run with us. He also was one of the nicest guys you would ever want to meet: jovial, engaging, warm, etc. At some point towards the tail end of our run one of the bigger jerks on the court went up to him and said words to the effect of "how the hell could you have not dunked in that playoff game against the bulls. You cost us the series!" I wanted to take my fist and ram it right down the guy's throat. Smith's entire demeanor changed. That comment to Smith was uncalled for and so is knocking Felipe IMO.

Felipe spent 4 years at St. John's and was a great representative of our program. Our record and his career suffered because of two mediocre coaches and never having a point guard like Erick Barkley those years. Like this year's team without an outstanding PG, those Felipe years failed to recruit a complimentary guard to play along side him.

@CasualHoya: No future Hoyas make the McDonald's Bad Hamburgers game. Big East represented by Villanova's Jalen Brunson and Marquette's Henry Ellenson.
