Matt A

Just got home from a long day at work. I'm actually surprised at how much I could care less about this, in spite of the fact that I should be thrilled. Frankly it's hard for me to believe that considering how much we suck as a program, that this kind of crap is going on. In the real world, people generally get rewarded for actually accomplishing something. But of course college basketball ain't the real world. So, good for Matt for maneuvering a few more bucks out of SJU, and good for Chris for not losing his only recruiter. Now on to the next SJU crisis.

Consider this an extended honeymoon for Matt. If he fails with our major targets next year, hasta la vista, baby.

these days...even the real world isn't the real world. There are several times a week where I have to wonder if we are living in the Matrix.

Zagoria: Matt is staying at @StJohnsBBall and not going to LSU.

Hoo Ray for such good news!
And just maybe this will the the boost to fuel CM & staff to masssge/refine our current recruiting approach into something better!
We deserve better.
Let's get it done.
:)

Wouldn't it be timely for those posters with a good attunement w SJU recruiting to update the " proletariat" on 2018:
Which recruits are our prime targets
Which will (likely/possibly) lead to successful results

I would appreciate that :)

Results will tell for Mullin and co. just like they do for all coaches. The proof will be in the next two recruiting cycles, the W-L record the next 3 years.

Here is my take:
- Though he still has a lot to prove, in reality he is the only guy recruiting so Mat would have been a big loss.
-At THE MOMENT looks like Lovett staying which would be a surprise and be our best recruit for next year since I think most of the year it appeared he would be gone. Though this is fluid at best I bet.
-Clark and Simon should both be a big help.
-From what I am being told by people in the know we are getting a transfer big that will be eligible and help right away.
-Being told good shot even with Matt staying Rice could be added in some capacity. I joked about it but honestly the current staff is kind of weak and this would certainly help.

If those things come to pass this will have been the best ST John's off season since Lavin's first recruiting class got everyone all hot and bothered.

I think I would pass on this one. 6'2 and 160 pounds. Only shoots 22% from 3 and has a 1 to 1 assist to turnover ratio.

Sorry REDKEN, I didn't realize you had posted the same thing. Guess I should have turned the page before responding.

Hey, it happens all to the time. Been guilty myself too many times to count. Good to see you share my concern.

Not under the category of transfers but, Rykem Felder from Lincoln HS , Bklyn, played very well for SCarolina in Last week's games. A freshman too.. Seemed content to be backup this season and added scoring and defense. Not sure we looked at him but, he is a good player. He was arrested last fall before playing his first game in a Columbia, SC nightclub but, even this Year's many HS McD All Americans have been too. . His Coach, Martin, called him a great kid, wrong place, wrong time.etc. Thornwell, also had a 6 game suspension for violating team rules but, he may be the Final 4's MVP.

Lincoln won the NYS Federation title last weekend. Smacked Lutheran in the Finals. That's two straight for the PSAL. You don't win Federation titles without good players. With all the hype about Molloy they didn't even win the CHSAA title.
